Hi all,

I was told to move my thread over here to find a Montana Sapphire for my e-ring. I know a good a mount about diamonds, and have actually been debating between the Montana Sapphire and a salt and pepper diamond for my e-ring.

I would love to know more about Montana sapphires, and good places to source them, and even places with lovely setting pairings :)

Thank you!

Gemfix always has a good stock.

I concur with everyone’s suggestions. I’ve purchased montana sapphires from Obsessedovergems (unheated) and Earth’s Treasury (heated). And from precisiongems. Good service and accurate photos. These businesses all have risk free return policies I believe. Obsessed and ET both offer settings. I’ve don’t two rings with ET and their custom route is actually pretty affordable - great quality products and top notch service. Suffice to say I love Montana sapphires….just don’t have enough $ haha.

You'll also want to be aware that Montana sapphires are notorious for shifting colors under different lighting (including clouds passing overhead) and typically have a grey element in the colors. So if you do choose a sapphire, make sure to view it in a variety of lighting.

Not a Montana, but precisiongem.com has a beautiful pink sapphire #2734 for sale now that would make a lovely engagement stone for someone.
