More Fun Things on Etsy

I love the keys! I''ve been chatting with Julia for weeks about doing a key for me and possibly setting a stone in it. Can''t decide whether to do that or just get it plain. I fell in love with the Tiffany keys but refuse to pay those prices. I''m leaning towards going with the plain key. Can''t wait to see everyone''s!!

Please do copy the idea.

I am getting the flat chain, it was super cheap and figured if I didn''t really care for the chain I can always change it out.

Julia is wonderful to work with, I can''t reccomend her enough. I look forward to seeing your key as I love the idea of the diamond.

Thanks EMP!
Maybe once a couple of us have received them, we can start a "Show us your keys" thread, lol..

Isn''t it crazy, what Julia and others on etsy charge for sterling chain - which you can bet it''s just the same
stuff as in Tiff''s but without the stamp and corresponding *huge* markup

Hey Katie,
were you thinking of dong a coloured gem? That would be really fun and pretty.
The possibilities are pretty endless aren''t they, I''m sure I could start a whole collection, lol..

I really wanted to keep the key plain too, but I like the idea of a small gem in the bail.

Let us know when you have a design!

This thread has been so quiet lately! Does anyone have any Etsy work planned for the near future?

I have a pendant in progress with Sally, and I can''t wait to see how it turns out! I do think the anticipation is half the fun!

I''ve been looking at etsy dolls for my daughters 6th birthday..but no jewelry projects going on..dangit!

Kitty Bangle in Sterling Silver with Diamonds from Michelle Chang Jewelry. This is my latest purchase. I just love it!

Here''s some pics of my spinel pendant, in the works. Julia''s been great about keeping me in the loop, and sending me pics at various steps in the process to make sure I like where things are headed :) It resulted in a change of design midway through, but I"m loving it! I can''t wait till it''s all done!

Keep in mind these aren''t polished or finished quite yet, so things are still a little rough.

MTG- They look amazing. Such beautiful work and for such a bargain price. Has she done solid bezels or has she done them so light can get through at the sides? We need side shots!

The bezels are solid, just open at the back (so I can clean!). I didn''t think I''d need to have the sides open, the spinels are both pretty light in color and I actually wanted to darken them a bit.

The pendant still needs to get the satin finish, and the bails and links put in, but we''re getting close! Can''t wait to see it myself!

MTG-what a great piece! Can''t wait to see the finished pictures!

Loriken, did this come in yet? I''d really love to see pictures!

If you look at Julia''s sales, it looks like someone commissioned a James Meyer-esque aquamarine ring. Was it someone here?

I was wondering about that too..

Someone in CS posted about sending their aqua to her a little while ago. Can''t remember who though.

ah, just saw it was Katiedid.

atm it looks very similiar to the JM - knowing Julia, I don''t think
she will directly copy another designer though.

They are beautiful! I have Sally in my Google reader and those two are the ones that have made me click for more pictures for them. They are beautiful. Sally did an aqua pendant for me and I love it! I also love the silver rope effect on the ring. Its fab!

Thanks SapphireLover, I love your aqua pendant

Do you get to wear it often? I can imagine it goes with most everything.

Hello all, this website has me addicted! My husband is always teasing me about being a lurked, but this time I have a couple of questions for the gurus out there. I tried in Rocky Talky but no replies so far, am hoping folks here may have had this experience and can advise. Here goes:

We recently got married (yay!) and my parents gave me a loose diamond as a gift, 0.33ct, D, RB, VVS2. That''s what the tag said, it didn''t come with any other paperwork and since it was purchased overseas and a gift, I''m just going to enjoy it. So on to my questions, I''m having a setting made by Sally from Heart of Water, an online Etsy vendor in 18k yellow gold in their Christie setting.

Since Sally is based in Thailand, I''m not comfortable sending my stone in the mail internationally. Can anyone suggest a good jeweler in Los Angeles I could go to to have the stone set? If not, how should I find out about the jeweler? How much does this typically cost? What do I need to look out for? Should I get an appraisal on a stone this size?

Thank you!

Yep, I wear it most days. I alternate it with a silver circle link lariat necklace I got from Tiffany''s, depending on the neckline I am wearing. I love the pendant and am going to ask DF to get me a matching pair of earrings for my birthday in September. I''m going to ask Sally to put them on wires as opposed to on posts.

I actually got a vintage aqua bezel ring of Ebay to wear with the pendant. It was a private auction and I got it for £6.50! The stone has a bit windown (never actually truly understood what it meant until I saw one). It really highlights the quality of the stones that Sally supplies. I know lots of people supply her with their own stones, but the quality of the ones she uses are great.

This is great to know, as I''ve wondered about that. I''m wanting a pink tourmaline in a lotus setting

Gorgeous colored aqua MariedTiger! I love it! Hehe, you''re becoming a Sally addict!
Here''s my latest of the Julia-pendant epic, it still needs a final finish and the stones to be securely set, but we''re getting really close!
