It''s hard to see the words, and the spinel covers the ring from the top view, but *I* know the words are there, and it makes me smile to see them. Ha, you can see how it makes my finger poke out above the rings.

And actually, I''d requested 3mm width, but after it was made, the bottom of the *y* didn''t show, so they remade it wider at no extra charge. I think it''s close to 4mm now..kids took my ruler so I can''t check.

I did OK the wax, I ended up deciding on sterling silver with 18k yellow gold centers since I'm a huge sucker for two tone!
Patrick said it should be done in sometime next week. WOOT!

In other news, big YIPPEEEE!!!! I just got an email from Dan and Caren, and my two OECs are set and ready to be shipped to me!! I'm in Australia so will have to wait a week or so, how will I pass the time?!

AHHH so excited!!

These are my first antique diamonds and first handmade setting for rings I've ever had, so I can't wait to get my mitts on them. The original settings didn't do the lovely stones much justice, but these ones do! The 8 prong one is for me, and the 6 prong one will be mum's Christmas present from dad, my brothers and myself. Her original Ering was a round brilliant of about 15pt with 8 surrounding it, about 1-2pt each, on a super chunky yellow gold band. For her 50th we had the ring reset with the larger stone in a white gold bezel, and the other 8 channel set with 4 each side in 18ct yellow gold. She loves it, but has long admired classic, plain solitaires. I'm thinking her current Ering with be migrating east onto her right hand after Christmas

My wedding band from DanielM is done and in the mail tomorrow! It actually was done a couple days ago but the bottom of the *y* didn''t all fit w/the width I''d requested so they remade it a tish wider, no extra charge. I LOVE it! Nice and simple and the sentiment fits us perfectly!

Awww packrat....the princess bride. My husband used to say that to me all the time when we first started dating. I had never seen the movie at that point. What a sweet phrase I love the band

In my suggested shops there is strungoutdesigns. Pendants and earrings that are swirly, swoopy and really pretty. I can't link to it but a vendor search would pull her up I'm sure. Thought it was worth a mention!

Well my two .50ct diamond studs have arrived home from their trip to DanielM in the US, and they are lookin' might fine!!

I love these diamonds... they aren't ACAs or anything fancy, I just spotted them a few years ago and bought them as I was so drawn to their wonderful character. From the side they definitely display some colour (I think they are Js) but when worn on the ear they are seriously WHITE! They are eyeclean, very prettily cut and throw off HEAPS of fire. However, I never liked the 4 prong setting they were in, the claws were blobby and took away from the lovely stones. So, inspire by our gorgeous Yssie I had them set into 8 prongs, and am thrilled! The workmanship is exquisite, the prongs are so tiny!
