Hi Ladies,
Thanks for all of your opinions on my previous BM dress post over the weekend. I realized that none of the ones I had were really great options (thanks to your helpful comments), so the search continues....and continues! I have been making myself sick over this and need to order asap as time is running out! I am just so picky and can''t find exactly what I want (plus my BMs have such different tastes, so their opinions, while helpful, keep throwing me off!) I have been struggling to find something I love that is not super expensive. I love the look and colors of Jenny Yoo, but $300+ is not cool :)

My style is preppy and classic, and my wedding is an ourdoor, gardeny affair. Here is what I came up with, so let me know your opinins - you can be mean if you hate it! It is from Aria.

1. Has anyone used Aria? What were your thoughts on quality?

2. What do you think of this dress. My vision is to have the girls get it in this exact same color and then tie an ivory sash around it with a girly bow in the back :) I like that the dress is a bit poofy (but not too much).

Another option woud be to add an ivory sash with no bow but then put a pretty broach near the wasit (maybe one of those cute ones from white aisle) - and I think that would give it a more vintage look. http://www.whiteaisle.com/broaches.htm

3. What do you think of the color of the dresses - the light pink? Is it too light or ok?

Thank you so much for your opinions! And tell me if I''m on the path to cheesiness... This is really keeping me up at night and I have less than 6 months so need to get a move on! Please knock some sense into me and help me decide!

To give you an idea of the bow in the back look, it would be something like this. A very girly. preppy look...

Heck I think they''re cute! I would go darker pink if they''ve got it, but if not, I think this is fine. Very girly but I think it would suit everyone just fine. I really think you should just pick something and consider yourself done with it. The girls are just going to make you crazy if you don''t.

I like the bow too. Would you have them wear ivory shoes?

Thanks Freke! I know I should just pick something but I am insane and my biggest flaw has always been trying to please everyone. I need to get over it pronto, and I recognize that it is making me (and probably my freinds!) crazy! I just need to pick but I''m having such issues.... I want the perfect, pink dress in my style (over the top girly, bows, and all the other things that make many girls want to puke), but at the same time I want my girls to like it....ayy!

There is also this shade of pink. I guess I liked the lighter one because it seems more vintagey/gardeny, but do you think this one is better?

So you think bow is better than broach?

Thank you again for your input!

Oh and as for shoes, haha...I haven''t gotten there yet! Baby steps :) But yeah I think some sort of strappy ivory or other light, neutral color!

I like the first pink better. But not sure about the matching pink shoes they''ve got on. It''s a bit much. Otherwise, I love the shape of the dress!

thanks CJ! YOu don''t think the poofy skirt is too much? I mean, I know it''s girly, but I guess that''s just me :)

As for the matching pink shoes, don''t worry! I won''t go there :)

Okay. Well. Did you want honesty? Cause, that's kinda what I'm known for. And honestly? They look frumpy to me and too foo-foo. SORRY! I can tell your stressed about this and want to help but my help is to advise you to look at non-satin (chiffon, organza, crepe) dresses with straps. Separates would be a nice idea too to allow for different fits.

Thanks gypsy! It''s actually not satin, but silk shantung. I''m worried about the frumpy factor (not sure is sashes would help), but as to the froo-froo thing, I think that''s just my style :) I''m just a girly girly....

I''ve been looking everywhere and I can''t find anything....haven''t seen any seperates anywhere, though. Hmmm...maybe I can look for that.

ok, first of all you are still SIX MONTHS AWAY!!! i know it feels like you need to decide on this NOW, but BM dresses usually take only about 3 months max, right? so, take a deep breath, do a yoga class, and don''t stress!!

i''m with crown, i like the first pink better and glad to hear you won''t make them dye their shoes pink!! haha. what about silver strappy sandals? i love silver and pink! and I think the ivory sash would be super cute, although again with the larger BM she might not be in favor. i haven''t seen Aria dresses so I can''t help there.

i saw from the list that your wedding is the weekend after mine. honestly, i think you still have at least a month before you should feel any pressure, so definitely don''t let it stress you out!

it''s kind of a hard color...not sure if it''s in your budget but if you REALLY can''t find something you like, maybe you could subsidize the Jenny Yoo?

Sorry, thought they were satin because of the other ones you were looking at. Shantung is a very pretty fabric, but it''s stiff and can be a bit difficult fit wise. I edited to add some dresses to my posts above. I think they might be generally flattering.

As for foo-foo.... if it''s you, then go for it.

Kara...yeah, I thought abotu subsidizing jenny yoo, but my one BM was complaining that the dresses were "shiny" and "looked cheap" - grrrr! I really feel like there is no dress out there for me. I''ll keep looking though - everyone is saying that you have to order 6 months in advance so that is stressing me out, but you''re right, there is still a little time... thanks :)

Gypsy - thank you!!! I actually reallly like 754 and 761! I am going to check those out in person this weekend :)

I think the dresses in the second photo are indeed frumpy looking. The ones in the first are not. They''re cute and flirty... However my reservations with that dress is the straight across strapless-ness. I know it is hard to find a flattering strapless dress. Sweetheart strapless is more forgiving.

How about these from Nordstrom?

haha that''s funny, i definitely found jenny yoo to be the best quality of BM dresses. quality that i would consider buying as a dress for myself...but not for those prices. has this BM been one that has tried on all the different ones you have looked at?

it''s so hard because BM dresses are ALL cheaply made and insanely expensive!!! but they know that us brides want everyone to match, so they totally take advantage. i hate the wedding industry.

how many BMs do you have? i think you said 6? what if you had everyone go out and buy their own solid pink knee-to-tea length dress and let them pick the shade themselves? i think those multi-shade weddings look so great. that way everyone picks the dress they like and that makes them feel the best...of course i would probably ask them to send me a pic of the dress so i could approve first...which i don''t think is too much to ask at all!

Maggie London $178

Cj - like the norstroms one! Do they only go up to 16 though? That is the problem with off the rack

But those are cuute!

Oh and the 2nd aria ones I posted were just for color, not style.

Yeah, i kind of see the first ones as being flirty too! But I can also see how others view them as frumpy. As for the straight across neckline, I could tell the girls they can have the seamstress pin it down to a sweetheart if they want? I know the wedding dress ladies always said that was so easy.

I heart this one so much!! Why don''t they have bigger sizes....tear

And how about Alvina Valenta? It seems like their latest ad campaign is geared towards a romantic, girly, antique kind of style.

Kara - yes, she went with me on the most recent trip, but she''s never seen Jenny Yoo in person. I have seen them in person and find them to be great quality too! They also have great shades of pink :) Maybe I should suck it up and go with those? She said they are "school marmish" - i dont know. Maybe they appear that way online?

haha hmm definitely don''t agree about the school marm comment...and their store is so great and huge!! and i lOVE how they have almost every style of dress in almost every color for you to see in person. maybe take her there and see if she feels the same way?

this is kind of the poofy look i was going for....

poofy.jpg

Kara, I agree! I think Jenny Yoo seems so cute and classy and fun! Maybe i should take her to the store so she can see! My other BM loves jenny yoo and really wants to get the dresses from there.

I love that last pic you posted FMPD. I think that dress is gorgeous! Who designed it?

7.gif
That''s sucky. I think either a rose or a light pink is more your style, and not so much Barbie pink. Have you seen the pink in person?

And I think you should do either silver or gold strappy shoes to go with the BM dresses...
