I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea from what I have been reading however I have some questions. A jeweler I have seen recently told me a decent cut pear Morganite can cost a $1000-$2000. Nowhere have I seen online a Morganite that much. The rings I have been looking at on Etsy (Sam and Sue, Rosados Box, LaMore Designs, SellerofJewels, JuliaB, DoveDiamomd) have the complete rings for about $900-$1200.
Is anyone experienced in Morganite that can help me in the right direction with this? Where should I be looking and also what is the price point for a well cut stone! 41B9FEC9-C4D3-4991-ACB9-B02A832AE269.png 651AD1F3-82FB-45A2-9910-BF2C0D94F412.png Light pink, pear shaped with a halo. I will try to attach some photos in what I am looking for.

Thank you for any info!

Multicolour has many pear shaped Morganite at very reasonable prices. You do have to be careful to look closely at their photos to make sure the stone is well cut. Here is an example of a very pale peachy pink 10x8 Morganite, like the ones in your photos, for under $100.

It depends on what your jeweller defines by a decent morganite, he could also be quoting you with his brick and mortar mark up as well. Color is very important for Morganite, the pinker, the more valuable. Most affordable morganite will be peachy colored instead. They are commonly set in rose gold to make them look more pink. If you look closely at the rings you posted, they are slightly more peachy than pink. If you do not mind that they are not that pink, then it’s money saved right? :D

Here is my little morganite ring in 14k rose gold with a SI2 diamond halo from Lord of Gem Rings for less than $500. It’s peachy pink but looks pink enough to my eye :) I think a pear morganite will be beautiful.

Beautiful ring. What carat equivalent is that your Morganite? How do you like it? No idea how my pics posted that way on my original post lol. I have pretty much messaged all these Etsy stores and told them I would most likely want a 10x7 Morganite and also a pinker stone. Does Morganite have a lot of sparkle?
Thank you Two Neezers as well. I will check the link out.

How do I know if it is well cut or not?

The two I linked for you above appear to be the best of their offerings right now as far as cut and clarity go. It’s a bit of a guessing game trying to judge a stone by one photo, but do you see how the stones in those two picture above show light reflection throughout the majority of the stone? That is what you want. The one I am posting below looks flat in the middle, that is called a window and you don’t want that. The stone will look dead in the windowed area. The Multicolour stones aren’t precision cut, but some are better than others and they were one vendor I knew for sure had Morganite pears.

One other suggestion I could offer is to contact a custom cutter named Matt Dunkle. He did have Morganite rough a while back and might still have some rough he could cut a pear for you from. Here is a link to his store: https://squareup.com/store/matt-dunkle/

Mine is 6x8 so it’s over a carat but I don’t recall exactly how much. I like it very much, I kind of think of it as the pink sister of aquamarine, which is also a favorite of mine. They sparkle in about the same way, in a soft, delicate way. However, as I think I mentioned to you in your other thread, sapphire and spinel will sparkle more, those gems are just more brilliant on the whole.

Good to know, great. I will start looking for that. Thank you very much.
