Tawn!!!! You''re soooo lucky! I totally *big giant puffy heart* Aerosmith! I''ve been to see them eight times, and they always put on such a great show (for me, any of those concerts is the most memorable...hehehe)!

My first concert was Offspring, I''ve also been to see Bush with No Doubt as an opener (My friends and I all had such a huge crush on Gavin Rossdale...we were front row and ended up getting stuck in the middle of a mosh pit!), and Candlebox, Sugar Ray, Kid Rock, Sponge, Fuel, Tommy Lee, KISS, Shania Twain and Bon Jovi (I''ve seen them three times- they''re my second fav behind Aerosmith)!

Kerbear...my Mom is totally fascinated with Kid Rock, right after Steven Tyler! Ah, the bad boys of Rock ''n'' Roll!! Makes me almost sad my days of dating the boys in the band are long gone...

What do you mean dating the boys in the band??? You mean Steven was cheating on me?!?

On a serious note, did you hear that Tom Hamilton is being treated for throat cancer? What sad news. I hope he makes a full recovery: http://news.yahoo.com/s/eo/20060825/en_music_eo/19857
Unfortunately, Steven''s wife was always with him, so I couldn''t make my move! (big giant

Jeffifer Aniston apparently told Brad Pitt when they were married, that Steven Tyler was the one man she could have on the side or something like that! His must have been AJ...

I too as well grew up on classic rock. I ve seen many bands over the years. The greatest live act in my eyes, was and is The Who.
Have seen them about 18 times in various lineups, solo, etc. The second act would probably be Clapton of the 90''s. The journey man if you will. Just the sound of that guitar would shake the roof off the garden or the colisium. Ive been to outdoor fesitvals in the 80''s as well as some reunions of sorts, arms concert at msg, police, deep purple 85, and various shows with Mick and the boys,(stones lol)
Too numerous shows to mention here, as Ive saved all of my ticket stubs, and can compare the prices back then to now, and wow, what a difference. After attending many shows over the years, and traveling to other cities as well, and wristbands for early lineup access, the only band that really meant anything, was the Who. When the lights go down, and you here those chords to I can''t explain by The Who, at msg, and townshend/daltrey driving the masses wild, you know your at a rocknroll show.

We will get''d who''d again

My sister saw the Beatles in Chicago''s Wrigley Stadium.

She said you could not hear music, only screaming.

Her voice was hoarse, BTW.

Finally able to catch up here!

Ms. Darlin Joy!!! Thanks so much for sharing. You sure have alot under your belt too. You were doing the concert scene when I had taken a break during the mid-80''s. I would have loved to see the B-52''s. I bet that was a good one. All the hair bands that were out during that time didn''t really get me as I thought many of them were a little too girly looking.
14.gif
That is until Metallica came bac on the scene.
37.gif

Great pic of Sammy Hagar too!!!

Anyone here been around long enough to have seen The Beatles?
Kind of
31.gif
.....I have a sister who is quite a few years older than me who was a huge Beatles fan. Mother was pg with me when my sister went to the London Palladium to see them in the ''60s. By all accounts all you could hear was the screams standing outside, no music at all. But I was sort of there! Must be why I have loved John all these years...
25.gif

Thanks for sharing Lorelei

Haha... you qualify!!! From watching interviews with the Beatles and also the anthology they say the same thing. There was so much screaming that noone was really able to listen and appreciate the music. I believe its one of the reasons they got tired of touring. The equipment/technology during that time wasn''t quite up to snuff as the cheering/screaming always outdid the music.
39.gif
I''m sure it would have been an excellent experience though, just for the experience of it all. I recall as a young lad watching them on the Ed Sullivan show during the late 60''s.

John has always been my favorite Beatle too and I love singing and playing his Beatle songs.

Where in LI are you from Maui?

Hey Rhino

At the time you saw that Pink Floyd show I was in Westbury LI. Now I''m in Bayside which I guess is NOT Long Island but still part of Long Island. I just hate the way Queens sounds.

LOL... close enough!
3.gif

I heard about the possible reunion as well. If only it was another ''Wall'' tour. My husband and his friends were just the kind to see any concert that would come around.

That''s how our band of misfits were too.
3.gif

He are a few groups he has seen and I only WISH I had . . . Led Zeppelin (the song remains the same tour) and he saw STYX and Meatloaf (I want to see Meatloaf!!!!) Hey, new album is coming out this fall so I''m sure a tour will follow.

Wow. I was standing in line for Zeppelin tickets when "In Through the Out Door" tour was going on sale and THAT DAY John Bonham''s death was announced.
7.gif
Wifey saw Styx and loved the show. :)

Now ssshhh . . . at that time and a few years past that I was dating a Long Island circuit drummer. Spent many times at all the local Long Island Clubs. Hammerheads, Speaks, The 3rd Rail are a few this old gal can think of now. I have seen Zebra so many times I can''t even count. Twisted Sister, the Good Rats, Rat Race Choir (my cousin was the keyboardist for a few years). Then of course there was Queensryche at Lamour''s off Northern Blvd.
Metal was coming out and was the THANG in the 80''s
Oh my ... I bet we ran into each other then. Zebra was really popular here on the Island as well as the others you mention. Dee Snider frequents some of the car shows out here on the Island still. He has a nice ride (yellow Mustang if memory serves me right).

Hope to meet you one day Maui.

Kind regards,
Jonathan

What''s so funny to me is that with some of these old bands, I can''t remember which ones I really saw live!

I for sure saw Elton John and Bob Dylan. My husband went to see the Rolling Stones but I didn''t like them and didn''t go. He also went to Eric Clapton. Steve Martin came to my college...does that count?! He was really funny! Others that came were Janis Ian and Todd Rundgren. I probably wouldn''t remember that if someone else hadn''t mentioned it.

My favorite concert of all time was Paul McCartney. Every song brought back memories. You could really hear him sing, and he was still cute! I saw him before Linda died. I was impressed that they managed to stay married all those years when so many celebrities upgrade spouses like we do diamonds! I''m sad for him that the second one didn''t turn out so well.
Hey ds,
35.gif

My daughter would love to see Dylan. I''m going to have to recount all my shows now. :P We finally saw Paul last year and yes ... it is perhaps one of the best shows I''ve ever seen. Up there with Floyd for sure. I''m such a sap ... I got teary eyed through the whole thing. Really brought me back.
41.gif
Paul has been a great example IMO too regarding the wonderful relationship he had with his wife Linda. Have you seen the McCartney Anthology DVD? It is great and in it his daughter is inverviewing him. It''s the daughter he was holding in his arms on his very first solo album "McCartney" (also one of my favs).

Kind regards,

Very first concert was in 7th or 8th grade....Inxs!

The next one and the most memorable was Depeche Mode Music for the Masses! I wore that T-Shirt to the GROUND!!! My friend''s dad got us young gals a limo and the driver made the mistake of leaving the booze in the limo!!!! Well, let''s just say that one girl lost her lunch as soon as we got there. GROSS! I think the limo trip may have given the concert a run for its money!

And oh god, does anyone remember They Might Be Giants? Little Suzie B. got thrown into a mosh pit! That was a scene...A bunch of catholic school high school girls from the track team diving in to get her out! :0

Believe it or not, I''m a huge Metallica fan and would have loved to see them in concert...but alas, Jason is no longer with them and is busy making a fool of himself on Supernova and at 33, I''m afraid I''m a tad too old for that show!
LOL... mmm I can just see you headbangin now.

Metallica opened for the Rolling Stones twice last year in san francisco: first concert on sunday they toned down a bit as they knew the crowd wasn''t familiar with them...opening act had not been announced when the tickets went on sale. however, people knew who was going to open for the 2nd show: Metallica let it rip as they knew their fans were there....met a couple from Amsterdam that belong to a Metallica fan club there. great concert all way around.

best: Rolling Stones, BRIDGES TO BABYLON, Oakland, California, November 1997. Pearl Jam opened. concert was almost called because of all the rain.....but i had my scotland rain gear on and wasn''t bothered. many left but the concert ended up starting late but was a go evenutally. the rain had driven many out so it was the real true fans left: sitting in the rain with real fans and listening to the Stones who were giving it their all.....priceless, as the saying goes.

movie zombie

ps i have my tickets for the Stones, oakland, november 5, 2006.
Wowza movie ... STones and Metallica and Stones/PJ ... those must''ve been a heckuva show.

Hey slipkid,

THANKS A TON for sharing the shots. Really brought back some memories for me too. I was sad to see Entwistle go. I saw The Who on the tour immediately following Moon''s death when Kenny Jones was first introduced as the new drummer. Definitely another show as one of "the best" for me too. I have always loved The Who and will see this this go round. Back in 79-80 my seats were right off to the side right above the floor so the seats were awesome. Haha... do you ever watch "That 70''s show on TV?"

Peace,

It''s funny watching those old concerts and all the girls going crazy eh?

I will be at the WHO Concert, next wed at jones beach. I usually go to all shows when the band is in town, but my diamond that I am purchasing from you, takes priority lol lol. So I have to cool it with the tickets, for multiple shows.

Well my first "real" big concert was Ratt and Bon Jovi (1984?) opened up for them. Ironiclly Bon Jovi was better because they were more energized and Ratt''s Amps were too distorted to hear. I knew a few songs from there MTV videos but that''s it. I was actually more of a fan to ratt until that day
2.gif

A few memorable concerts that come to mind:

David Lee Roth/Poison 1988?
Billy Squire/Def Leppard 1986?
Rush (counterparts)
U2 (Joshua Tree)
Richie Sambora (solo)
77''s
Stryper
Yes (Union Tour & Talk)

Have we met already slip? If not, please make it a point to introduce yourself next time you''re here. Where on the Island are ya from?

I hear ya about the multiple tickets thing. Concert ticket prices these days are just way out of control. Don''t ya just love the concerts at the beach though?!? Generally always a nice cool breeze.

Hey all,

This past Saturday I ran into 2 old HS buds of mine whom I haven''t seen for well ... years. I graduated back in 81. In any case we were talking about recent concerts we have seen and those we did back when we were youngens. A close friend of ours used to be a ticket scalper and would find out when concerts were going on sale the night before. He''d provide the beer and we''d stay up all night as Madison Square Garden/Nassau Colisseum to buy the tix as soon as it opened the next day. Crazy times indeed.
9.gif
I was lucky enough to have seen some awesome shows at pretty close seats.

I''m an old classic rock fan myself but I''ll never forget seeing the last concert Pink Floyd played together as a complete band when they did ''The Wall''. I happened to have tickets for 2 different nights and could have sold my ticket for the 2nd show (back then) easily for $200 but didn''t.
37.gif
My daughter and I are getting ready to see Roger Waters together this coming September but was wondering what memorable shows come to mind from the folks here. Anyone here been around long enough to have seen The Beatles?

All the best,
Rhino,

I saw the Roger Waters concert a couple of months ago... AWESOME CONCERT!!!!

If You are a Pink Floyd fan..., you''re gonna enjoy this one a lot...

HAVE FUN>

sure we have met, this is Steve, Ive come in a few times, diamond selected, just selecting a mount is holding me back on a 1.697 Isee 2. Perhaps the stuller solistice may be the answer with a pave, or just plain.

Thanks for the heads up Diagem. I think its in about 2 weeks or so and we can''t wait. I know Roger is doing Dark Side of the Moon and we really look forward to that.
21.gif
In fact a local music shop to me got the concert on DVD that Roger Waters did in Ireland on this very tour. It''s a bootleg but the owner, whom I know said the quality came out incredible. I''ll have to check it out. If you want a copy let me know and I can put you in touch if you''re interested.

All the best,

!!! Now I know who you are slipkids.

I like the simplicity of the solstice personally and it''s not overkill with pave either. If you''re unsure however you may want to keep it plain becuase we can add the pave set diamonds at any time just in case you don''t think she''d like that.

Peace,

21.gif

It is not the rock realm, but I can now add

Barbra Streisand to my list.

It was a great show at MSG last night!!!!!!

I was in attendance at the Stones concert, here in NYC, at the Beacon Theatre. I guess you can call it being lucky, in seeing the band in front of 2100 fans. I was just above the orchestra, perfect viewing right by the spot light guys. Right on top of the guys, for a $50 ticket.

Martin Scorcese is filiming a documentary on the band for 2 shows at this theatre. There were celebrities galore, little steven, lauren hutton, billy gibbons from zz top. It was like being at the grammy awards. Buddy Guy opened the show, and played a blistering set, then he jammed with the stones. As silly as it sounds, Chrisina Aguiliara did a duet with mick, on a song called with Live with Me, probably used for the sex appeal to sell the dvd, that is coming out. What a night. Too many photos to publish here. Ill tell ya that charlie watts on the drums, what a performer at his age. He still hits those drums with authority. Mick, what can i say about him. A corporation all by himself, moves like a 20 year old on stage. Keith, guitarvirtuoso, ronnie, well , is ronnie. Best show of the tour, very intimate setting.

Check out further details on the website. http://iorr.org/ or http://p081.ezboard.com/bshidoobeewithstonesdoug
