I have a shallow yellow stone to set in a new mounting. How would you set this stone to enhance the color and sparkle since it’s lacking the point in the bottom so there’s fewer facets?777F9642-F7AF-4E6A-82EF-CD0DB2281C1C.jpeg

I would set this in a yellow gold setting to enhance the color. You could also add a halo to add sparkle!

I would use a yellow cup to bring out the yellow and make it not be so see-through.

Are you planning on a ring or a pendant?

definitely yellow gold! is this a portrait cut? or does the lighting just make it look that way? if it's a portrait cut, I would worry that you'd see the cup through the stone.

Look at some antique settings with rose cuts for ideas. You may want to consider a closed back or cup setting with some access for cleaning. Looks like a portrait cut stone with maybe a little more faceting on the edges than you sometimes find.

I saw this today and it made me think of this stone; it would look cool in yellow gold I think!! I would love to see more pics of your stone as well.
