Hi girls!

I am so happy you loved the Demetrios dress!. The website and ads in magazines DO NOT do that gown justice...they made it look more "mermaidy" than it really is, the fabric is great and it is not heavy at all...it''s flowy and super romantic!.

Anyway, since you were both interested I thought I would let you know that a girl on the knot did a bit of reserach for me and found a great deal!. This dress was $1300 at the store I went to. She found it online for $805!!!!.

I believe she found it on www.leephilipbridals.com . They are suppossed to be very reputable and lots of the girls on the knot have found their dresses through them. The delivery time was 10-12 weeks.

I think it is a truly beautiful gown! I actually did like the nude/white lace combo because it makes the lace stand out more. The one that was all ivory didn''t look as nice (IMO), but I wasn''t allowed to try that one on (they just showed it to me as the seamstress was working on it for another bride).

Hope that helps!

Mandarine,

Thanks for thinking of me/us! Which dress are you leaning towards?

Right now still the Lazaro....I found it through that same store for 2,200 (rather than 3,300!)...but that''s still double of what I wanted to spend!!!..

The Demetrios is my #2 option for now. Tomorrow I''m going shopping again to a store that has a lot of the designers some girls here recommended. I hope they let me take pictures!!!!.....I''m just going with FMIL...and no offense, but she and I don''t share the same taste and she can be a little "pushy" (I don''t think she means it ina bad way). Anyhow, I hope they let me take pictures because I love PSer''s honesty and tips!!! haha.

I will keep you guys updated!!!!!

haha pushy, you described my FMIL to a tee!! I think a lot are that way, must be the age...
Family has nicknamed her "BIG RED" need I explain more.... lol
But in all fairness, she has been pretty good, and trying not to be pushy, at least she''s aware that she can be alittle at times..

Thanks, Mandarine! I have actually made my decision today that I''ll go with the Demetrios dress after trying out a few Watters and Jim Hjelm dresses. Jim Hjelm was my dream, still is though. I tried on style #8709, very elegant, neat and still Spanish theme. But pricey!! The store is asking for $3300+alteration costs. That definitely made me leave only one choice behind: Demetrios. And I love dancing and dance a lot at parties; certainly i am thinking about never getting off the stage at my wedding. Style #900 is perfect for it.

Lee Phillip Bridals may be very cost friendly though. If only I can find reputable alteration tailors in the city, then no second thoughts for me. I''m 5 feet 2", Macy''s was going to order the dress according to my height. But huge difference between two prices.

Mustangfan, i must have missed your previous posts. Where do you live? We could be dress-sisters. I know Mandarine lives in Florida, and I live in NYC and i am mentioning about buying it from Macy''s at Herald Square if I don''t order online.

ladyofflowers,

I live in central NJ , not too far from you, an hour drive!
Let me know when you get the dress, and please show us your dress fitting pics!

I sure will. I feel relieved though for having made the decision. I hope everything else will go smoothly, too.
