I got a bit creative figuring if it doesn’t work out, no harm done.
I had a lovely “choker length” Siberian Amethyst bead necklace with a Citrine teardrop centre which somehow broke and the necklace then fell onto concrete stairs before rolling and dropping another 10ft down to more concrete.
The Citrine teardrop was broken as well as a few of the amythest beads meaning if re strung minus the broken bits it would only be 15” long which doesn’t go around my neck.
So it sat.
I then bought an Ethopian opal strand to use for some earrings I was making.
I had quite a few left over so I made this.
The centre is a pendant I had which is a piece of Chinese carved Amethyst (birds and a plum I believe) with a diamond set bale which also wasn’t getting worn.
So I restrung the amythest beads with an opal bead inbetween so now it is a good 20inches long which is perfect. I think the opal beads really make the Amethyst beads “pop” so I’m very pleased to revamp my broken bead necklace.
