Ok, so the diamonds are amazing. I can see arrows. It's the right size stones for my hand. But......the diamonds are set at different angles and kind of "wonky." :( I called Lana to tell her I just thought the setting needed some work and that the diamonds were gorgeous. She said no one ever returns that setting because it's so good and that their production is the best, the ring was checked before it shipped, all that. She said I could return it and have it redone if I wasn't happy. I don't know- based on what she said, maybe I AM being too picky? What do you all think- can you see what I'm talking about? Please tell if you think I'm nuts.

It's also not a 4.5. I can't get it on:( I remember my baguette and round band from them ran very small, so I should have said a 4.75. If I keep it it will definitely have to be resized.

I REALLY wanted to wear this next week when I went on vacation- I'm so disappointed that I won't be able to if I return it. I'm so torn. Part of me wants to suck it up and just keep it but it really isn't the quality that I've come to expect:(

I'm just really disappointed.

Let s see the base of the shank. If it's wider than your usual bands you'll need to size up for sure.

Also, can you just circle where you see the angles off? Take the best macro pics you can. Send them the pics with the issue highlighted.

I'm sorry you don't get to wear the ring as soon as you wanted to.

Maybe escalate the issue to Shulamit or Yekutiel if you feel that Lana isn't understanding what you mean.

It seems to me some of the crown heights are different, so that is contributing to the wonky look...

The diamonds do look really pretty.

So can the setting be save? Just get them to re-align the diamonds? I've taken the closest up pics I can:( I mean, they have a loupe! I would think they would see this better than me???

I don't think the crown heights are the problem-they are just set wonky.

I WISH I had a competent bench here, I'd get it re-sized, get the diamonds aligned, and be able to wear this sparker for the 4th of July. :cry2::cry2::cry2::cry2::cry2::cry2:

Could it have moved during delivery? The wonkiness is really obvious IMO from your pics. Saw that immediately so they should understand. I think.

I hope not! I saw it immediately too. I don't have any idea how they couldn't have noticed that.

I didn’t realise that most people don’t always notice/mind wonky lines until I renovated my house and had to point out to my interior designers and husband all the “not straight”/misaligned areas and they all gave me goggly eyes. o_O

People who can’t see wonky lines are lucky! No sarcasm as it’s easier really.

I see the asymmetry - and yes, it will surprise no one to learn that I wouldn’t be satisfied.

IDJ has a history of wanting to make people happy! But I think... with stuff like this... as @icy_jade commented... it can be quite difficult to explain what’s wrong to someone who doesn’t see it natively, and that difficulty is compounded by not being able to sit down together in-person. I definitely second @PintoBean’s recommendation to first find a representative who does see what needs to be changed so he or she can convey it to the bench etc.

I laughed out loud at this. I love you Yssie.

You have every right to be dissatisfied with this ring. Frustrating to wait for your ring to have it come in that condition. Your photos clearly show the problem and I think IDJ should easily recognize this. It’s disappointing to say the least.

Another thing to request is to please send you pics and a video BEFORE mailing it when they fix it.

::HUGS:: love :mrgreen2:

I’ve never worked with IDJ but I can really only think of one bad review here on PS... and we all know that all vendors f up occasionally! They really seem like they want to keep their customers happy... so I’m very confident they’ll work with you on figuring this out ::)

I am so sorry soxfan! It is frustrating and disappointing when crap like this happens. I definitely see the stone that is lower. But I am so glad you like the stones! I would definitely take pics of all things you don't like and give them a chance to fix it. One thing I would point out though is that I have a 5 stone sapphire ring by cvb that is delicate and prong perfect. I also have a shared prong 7 stone from whiteflash that although it is very well made it is definitely chunkier than the cvb. It's the nature of a shared prong. Do you think you will like the ring in this style even if it's up to your standards?

You aren’t the only one that has had this happen. A while back I had purchased two smaller diamond bands from IDJ and there were 2-3 stones in each band that were set wonky. It drove me nuts and I ended up resetting the stones with David Klass making the two bands in to one eternity band. I never did complain to IDJ about it, but should have. I don’t think you are being too picky at all. The stones look amazing!

Oh no, I'm so sorry you're not happy with your ring. I was hoping at least you'll get the perfect ring, as you know I'm having my own set of issues :cry2:

I definitely see what you're talking about too, stone on the left & 2nd from the right bothers me the most. I do hope you'll be able to get this corrected, but I hear you about being disappointed that you have to go through this and don't get to wear it right away...

I was thinking maybe if my ring issue can't be resolved and I end up returning it, I might go to IDJ as well based on how your ring looks. Now I'm not so sure... :(2

I would definitely speak up. I'm sure IDJ wants you to be happy with your purchase. If they can't make it right, then ask them to remake it, but in the larger size so that you don't have issues with sizing the ring. You can send them the photos you posted here. Take a photo of the one that icy_jade circled and send that to them, too. It's obvious from your photos that something is not right with the ring.
I'm sorry that you won't have it for the holiday, and the diamond district is closed for the first two weeks in July. But you'll be happier in the long run if you get it fixed or remade. Otherwise, you'll be unhappy with it for a long time into the future.

I am sorry that this project didn't finish smoothly. I agree that the symmetry does seem off, a few of the stones are seated crookedly and maybe it is just the photo but the last prong on the left side seems to be angling out instead of straight up like the others.

Best of luck for a speedy resolution

Oh soxfan, i'm really sorry it didn't work out, but yes I an see your point re the stones. In your first photo, to me going from L-R, 1 & 2 are ok, 3 seemed tilted down somewhat, 4 is definately off, and 4 & 5 look lower set. In the last photo the face up one, is it me or the camera angle, but the diamonds seem very different sizes? it could just be angles?? I would send it back, especially if it has to be resized as well. And I would second PintoBean in requesting photos and videos before return.

Thats the one thing that terrifies me about buying sight unseen, especially for me the distances involved in returning anything.

Hope you manage to get it resolved.

They do sparkle a lot though, which is lovely to see.

No, it's not just you. Everything you said was right. It's a hot mess.

Minus the mistakes, how do you feel about the size of the stones and the setting? Are you considering going with your second choice?

My husband wants me to return and get the 1.25 ctw from whiteflash in their trellis setting. I'm considering it. The IDJ stones are stunners, though. I need to sleep on it tonite...:???:

This is definitely not acceptable - it's wonky. I'm so sorry you are having to experience this. Buying new jewellery is so exciting! I bet you are just gutted. I would definitely be sending it back. But the diamonds are beautiful! I'm sure it'll be worth the hassle. Big hugs!

I love the trellis setting!

I love the trellis setting!

I have not been able to try on a 1.25 ctw 5 stone, just a 1 ctw and now I have the 1.5 ctw. I am not sure if I will be able to really tell a huge difference between 1.25 and 1.5?
