My Antique Opal Bracelet - unique

Any opal lovers like me out there? You’ll love this piece.
I have quite a collection of jewellery acquired over the decades and this bracelet is in my top 3 favourite pieces.
Purchased here in Australia over 20 years ago at a time and place where people obviously didn’t understand this opal variety or thought “opals bad luck”. True, even though Australia has mined the most opals in the world, a lot of Australians are “eeekkk, opals, they bring bad luck”.
Unfortunately these opals are hard to photograph, they have “floating” bright violet flashes which look weird in the photo. They are semi black crystal opals and they aren’t common variety, they are nearly all violet / blue flash with a sprinkling of green. This bracelet is a handmade item with the Sydney jewellery name and address engraved onto the clasp. This would have been someone’s prized piece of jewellery, the opals are large and colour matched perfectly. Not a scratch or chip, this bracelet was worn sparingly for special occasions only. I treat it with equal reverence.

I've always heard that they are only bad luck if you buy them for yourself. If someone else gifts them to you they are all good. LOL

Beautiful. The metal work is exquisite. I heard that opals are bad luck if you are not born in October (the gem for that month is opal).
