Beautiful. Love the scenery!
Wasn''t the sailing great? We did that in November and had a blast. And the guys that crewed the boats were great too!Date: 3/26/2006 4:24:32 PM

We did some amazing things while we were there - we hiked through the rainforest through some ruins and a bat cave, snorkeled in a place called Shitten Bay (I kid you not!), ate more lobster than I care to recount, and went sailing on the True North IV and Stars & Stripes (what a workout that was!)

Thanks, Tacori! Married life is absolutely wonderful! All we wanted by the last day on our honeymoon was to get back home and to our routine. We''re creatures of habit, and we missed our Kitties!
While we were away, my Father spent the night in the hospital due to his atrial fibrulation. It scares me to be so far away from my family, and to be completely unreachable had anything dreadful happened. He ended up being fine, but they had to shock him with the paddles to get his heart to convert. Needless to say, I was happy to be within cell phone range again.
In any case, we came back and things with my sister and my roommate had developed quite a bit (MOH and Best Man at our wedding) - she''s coming to Dallas in April to visit him. I''ve been here for 5 years, and she''s never come out to see me . . . hehe. Seems things are going well for quite a few people in our lives.

Lauren,
My dad has a fib too, he was diagnosed 4 yrs ago, and they could find no reason why, even after the whole workup If you ever knew my dad, he is the perfect specimen- exercised and ate right his whole life- people always make comments about him and how good he looks.
Well, anyway, 4 yrs ago like I said he went to the dr for a rash and they found the a fib. Suddenly, our worlds were turned upside down. It was upsetting to see my dad- who always seemed infallible-in such distress. We were all shocked. Even though a fib is not a terminal condition, it is a chronic one, usually. Well, they tried to cardiovert him (shock him back into normal rhythm) and it just didnt work.
So now, my dad has to take his meds everyday to prevent him from having a stroke. I pray everyday for him- and God knows he really does the best he can for himself in terms of exercise and diet- he eats a lowfat, vegetarian diet and exercises 4 days a week, but like I said, he pretty much has always been like that.
I didnt want to hijack this thread, but reading about your dad, I understand what you are going through. I just try to love him and always go the extra mile to talk to him, be with him, etc. But please remember like I said, it is not a terminal condition at all, if it is controlled with meds, most people live normally and do fine...just sucks...
I will keep your dad in my prayers too!!

Thank you, Dani. I truly appreciate the kind words, and I completely understand how you felt to see your Dad in distress. It''s frightening to see him like that, and everytime it happens, I remember him laying on the floor of my parents master bathroom when I was about 13, just struggling to catch his breath. He''s been going through this for almost 20 years, and this is about the 4th time it''s put him in the hospital. Luckily, he was on his way to the doctor for an upset stomach, and ended up checking himself into the hospital instead.
Thank you again for your kind words.
