My Blue Zircon Ring is finally on my finger!

My husband had given me a blue zircon stone for Valentine''s day''s gift this year. During the setting process the settler had nicked the edge of the table so it went back into the system to get it removed, repolished (to rid the nick), and reset. FINALLY it is ready and I would like to share it with you all!!! I love the color so much that I think I will wear it with my wedding band instead of my e-ring when the mood is in!!!!

Blue zircon is a "heavy-weight stone", so even though it looks just about as big as my 1.1 ct diamond center stone, it is actually 2.01 ct in weight. The reason is it has a fat "belly". The stone is cut really deep to preserve the color saturation in all different sorts of light condition.

The only downside of having a zircon is that it is a really fragile stone to care for. My jeweler is a very good setter, so the accident of the nick really came from not knowing HOW easily chipped/scratched this stone is. If you are thinking about buying one please do keep that in mind so you don''t go through the hassle I did!
