Hurry up and get that diamond so we can see it!!! I''m in the same kinda boat with having to wait on posting pics to see what all the ladies think. I have a beautiful completed ring sitting in the drawer waiting for him to propose so I can post official "engaged" pics, not just ... look as the pretty ring pics... Gotta say, I''m goin a bit CRAZY after 4 years!!! (we had our 20 week ultrasound yesterday and found out we are having a boy so he is oober excited with that so hopefully I will be oober exited to have a ring soon

I stopped by my local jeweler this morning. They aren''t the ones I bought this Tacori from but they had been a big help in my buying experience. The choice came down to a diana which they had been showing me and the Tacori I ended up buying 2 hours away. So, I stopped by to show them my new ring and they were soo excited about it!

Since I had not gone with the diana, they mentioned that maybe I would like to buy my diamond from them and I said I would totally consider it. When I went in to stop by, they asked if I had purchased a diamond yet and told me that they had a

diamond that would look perfect in my setting.
I was like ohhh I can''t purchase a diamond right now without my husband and you know what they said! Then take it home and show him!!! I was like huh... no no no... and they were like yes yes yes!

I was kinda apprehensive... who gives diamonds to people to try? I thought they were joking... Has anyone ever encountered this? Maybe because its a family owned store and I live in a small town? It might also help that they kinda know my parents.

Anyway, they just wanted my driver''s license, and two forms of "payment" on file. So I gave them my debit and one of my credit cards.

I feel bad cuz I''m not going to buy it. Before PS I would have believed everything they said! It''s graded by EGL, and not by the GIA or AGS. PLus, I feel like its super overpriced. It was like 20k something... I could buy a much better diamond from a PS vendor for less!

They asked if I wanted them to set it in my Tacori but I told them that I didn''t want to keep bending the prongs over and over but they insisted that they would be super super careful and that I could watch thru the window. And if anything happened, they would pay to have it fixed. So i thought, what the heck, if they are confident enough to pay...

But! It gives me a day, since I have to take it back tomorrow, to take pictures!!!! I HAVE FOUND MY LOOPHOLE!

I have taken a bunch of pics but left my computer cord at home so by this evening I should post some pics!

For sure! It sounded fishy to me too thats why I was like what...no....

I even had them write out a "receipt" that they let me take this diamond overnight just in case they say something else later and say I stole it or something.

I didn''t know jewelers let you take diamonds home to try. I did hear on PS that there is a vendor here that ships a diamond for you to look at? But i was thinking thats probably cuz the person cant visit the store and see the diamond in person before purchase.

I''m sure everything will be fine. I''m giving it back tomorrow morning, and not much can happen between then...

I''ve been under a lot of stress and been worrying about a lot of things. Family, money, work, my dad''s health (he had a stroke), and my parent''s off and on divorce/marriage. This ring and DH has been the only sane thing for me. So I guess when the jeweler offered this, I jumped at the opportunity without thinking. I was looking forward to the great comments that only PSers can give! And this diamond is just one less thing I wanna worry about. So everybody knock on wood for me. And hopefully I can get my pictures on here soon.

Sorry to be blunt! There is just no way that a company will loan out something valued at 20k to them. Even if they charged you, they would be taking a big risk and I do not believe they would take that risk if you told them you wouldn't buy it. I also don't think you are that unethical, given how much you care about what people think of you.

Maybe I am too suspicious, but there you go.

I would still love to see photos when you get *your* diamond in your ring though. And I am sorry about all your stress right now in your life.

So...you opted to not keep a CZ in the ring JUST so you could show some pics on PS? Wow, and you happened upon a jeweler that practically insisted on setting a 20k diamond in your ring that you weren't going to keep - for free? WOW! Lucky you!

It's almost as amazing as the story where you found a ring 2 years ago and because people on PS suggested they were not thrilled with the story - you suddenly found the previous owner of the ring and had a glorious reunion.

Why? Why take advantage of the kind and supportive people of PS with this bizarre drama?

And - does anyone know, can PS admin tell if someone is pretending to be two different people by posting from two different profiles? Matching IP addresses perhaps?
