So some of you have seen my dress in a previous thread. The seamstress was going to make a halterneck for me. I was concerned that she was going to use the tulle material from the cap sleeves which, in the mock up at my first fitting, looked AWFUL.

Well at my last fitting she had already made me a new halterneck out of matching material to the dress that she had at home.

My Mum took a photo of it but I forgot all about it. I have borrowed her camera to do some ebay listing as my mobile phone is in for repair so I have no camera. Well blow me down, I went to see what was on there and found this picture!

Lovely!

So much better than the tulle! It doesn''t distract from the overall loveliness of the dress the way the tulle one did. Woohoo!

Thanks girls.

It's coming along nicely now. I think there is a bulge on my left hand side though, under the bust/armpit. It needs taking in a little more yet I think. I wonder if she could maybe add a little bit of beading to the halter neck to glitz it up a little. The original cap sleeves had some bling.

Just my hair and makeup to sort out now. I'm going for a hair trial this coming week to see what the hairdresser can actually do with my odd hair!

Merrymunky I really like it!!

I remember the other halter, and the tulle just wasn''t going to look right in my opinion...but this is MUCH better!!

oh, i''m loving the halter on your dress, i agree, i think tulle would have been a bit too distracting, you look fabulous by the way!

Are you joking? My face is all fat and daft looking there!

But thanks for the compliment on the dress. I am glad the halterneck is a winner now!

You got that right. In fact, this last few days I have been terrible. I have been very tearful over my appearance. I never wanted to be a huge bride yet here I am, 5 weks away from my wedding and massive. My face breaks out in spots all the time and I am fearful that I will look terrible.

merry, whether you believe me or not, I think that you look amazing in your dress. You''ll be a stunning bride.

Wonderful!!! This is 5 million times better than the first halter. She did an awesome job!

And you are by NO MEANS a "massive bride" and I can''t see any spots in this photo. You look beautiful! Don''t fret!! Just enjoy your time left as a Bride-In-Waiting- don''t be so hard on yourself. You''re really gorgeous!

You look great! The new halter strap is perfect - and so is that dress on you!

It looks great! I too had a halter strap made for my dress. It was a bit expensive ($375 between the halter and the bustle), but worth every penny. The dress was suddenly different from the stock dress, and much more "me." I hope you feel just as great about yours!

Woah, that''s pricey. Is that a standard figure for the US? Foy my alterations (bustle and new halter strap and taking in the bodice) I am only being charged £90. I think to add beading is another £10 on top, which I would quite like on the halterneck, just at the bottom couple of inches, graduating and fading as it goes up.

And thank you. I know once my hair and make up are done on the day and I have my veil on, bouquet in my hand etc, I will feel wonderful.

Just need to even out that damn tan now. My shoulders are white, yet my chest and arms are brown. I tried SO hard not to get a tan but I work in a school and spent a lot of time out on the playground, and of course, when you have to dress appropriately, I can''t exactly wear a boob tube to ensure even tanning!!!! LOL

Nope, I don''t think it''s a standard figure at all, but rather she came to it because I had to have 2 different straps made (first one didn''t work out - too thin) and something like 4 fittings. It also included the bustle, which was $150 in itself.

For the tan, there''s always the ol'' fake & bake!
