My favors

Hi ladies,

FI & I worked on our favors all weekend & I just wanted to share a few pics with you.

We''re giving our guests beach-themed wind chimes & a mix CD of Jamaican music. I''m pleased with how they turned out.

(though the CD labels were quite a pain to print!)

Our names & wedding date are stamped on the top of the chime. (It''s subtle & you can''t see it when the chime is hanging)

This is the art on the back of the CD jewel box. We reproduced this image on a label on the actual CD as well.

Here''s the final package. I hope our guests like them.

Girl, you are too good!!! WOW!!!!!! The wind chimes are amazing and I think the cd is a great idea and looks awesome!! I love the way you tagged them too. Oh man, I am beyond impressed. You have done so many creative things (those incredible flip flop STDs and now gorgeous seashell wind chimes) that most people wouldn't even think of. Very original and special--great job!!!

We wanted to give our guests something to thank them for coming to our wedding, but the traditional out-of-town bags didn''t seem like the right choice. (Surely our guests brought sunscreen to Jamaica. Why give food & drink at an all-inclusive resort or anything bulky that the guests would have to bring home in their suitcases...)

So, instead, we wanted to give them little gifts that would remind them of their time with us.

I guess the fact that we didn''t have that many things to plan (thank heaven for the on-site wedding coordinator at our resort!) meant we could put a bit more effort into the things we did have to take care of ourselves.

I''m just giddy that you guys like them so much! Yay!

AmantdeChat, if you make CDs, just buy extra labels! We messed up a lot of them when we printed them up.

They are awesome!!!!! Who doesn''t love the sound of soft windchimes...and the CDs are gorgeous! We did CDs for our wedding and my SIL ended up copying the idea for her destination wedding in Greece. It''s a great remembrance of the trip...your guests are going to love them!!!

ChargerGrrl, my FI actually likes doing stuff like this. We''re both pretty crafty & enjoy doing projects together. We even built a little deck on the air shaft outside our kitchen window. (Crazy, I know--you take space where you can get it in NYC!)

FG--that''s totally what we wanted to do--create a nice remembrance of our trip for our guests. (As opposed to giving them stuff they could use when they were on the trip.) I hope they like it.

Thanks for saying they looked so professional, icekid. When I looked at them closely, there were some details I wish I''d fixed, but there comes a point in the process when it''s best to just let go & be done.

WOW those look amazing!!! Your guests are going to love them, and they really are sooo much more memorable/relevant than your stereotypical wedding favors! Great job!!!

ETA: Does anyone else come away from BIW threads sad that they aren't "real-life" friends with all the PSers so they could go to all their weddings??
