I need some honest opinions

so, i made my first collage. i hope that i can post it. it is the dress i''m thinking about. it''s a vera wang lavendar label -- not a true wedding dress -- but i think that it is gorgeous and it''s simplicity suits me. The top two pictures are the dress and the bottom picture is an actual "real" vera bridal gown from one of her collections. i''m using that dress as an inspiration for its wider, tulle straps -- i''d like to change the spaghetti straps to those yesterday, i went ahead and ordered the dress because i found it for 40% off and i just couldn''t pass it up. if it isn''t what i''m hoping i can always return it for a full refund.

IS IT BRIDAL ENOUGH.....

Maybe belle or mrssalvo could help you figure out how to post it?

I came really close to ordering a Vera Wang BM dress as my wedding gown. I think it looked really bridal. I can''t wait to see yours!

i''m hoping to work this out. sorry

it''s odd because i can see it -- even after opening a different browser...

You do not have the file uploaded to the internet. You have it linked to a file stored locally on your computer. So you will be able to see it on your PC but no one else will.
You need to use the attach file button at the top of the post box. Then find the file and attach it.

i was trying to avoid that because the file is way too large...how do you shrink things?

here it is:

Absolutely gorgeous. I think it makes a perfect wedding dress! Make sure you post pictures of yourself in it when you get it!!!

Yeah, I think that would be a PERFECT wedding dress!! Sooo gorgeous!

Its a very pretty dress! I think it is definitely bridal!
Its not a bridesmaid dress is it? Because you can''t order just one Vera Wang BM dress in White or Ivory.. as BrightSpot can tell you.. I don''t really know what lavendar label means.

the lavender label is vera''s ready to wear dress line. this particular dress came in white/ivory, rose and black. i love the tulle. i''m just wondering about having a dress that doesn''t have a train? won''t that be weird?

I love it, and I also love the lack of a train. I don''t want a dress with a train, but it seems that most of them have them.

I think the dress is gorgeous & definitely looks bridal! It looks nearly identical to the VW bridal gown you posted. I think having a gown without a train is just fine. If you want, you could always wear a cathedral length veil with it. I think that would look stunning!

I can''t wait to see it on you!

Oh, and I don''t think this applies to your situation as your gown is a Lavender Label, not a VW maids gown, but, as MelissaSue said, Vera Wang maids told me I could not order just one BM gown in white or ivory, but had to order 3. I called Pearl''s Place & they told me I could order only one BM gown in white or ivory.

good information brightspot -- what dress are you leaning towards?

i also love the dress because it leaves a great big area for some perfect bridal necklace. i saw one over the weekend but it''s almost twice as much as the dress

I think that dress is gorgeous and would be perfect for a wedding! I am leaning toward a vera wang right now too, but a specifically bridal dress...

icekid: can you describe your favorite or better yet post a picture
emstar.gif

Oh it''s gorgeous! I LOVE it! Have you tried it on yet? I think depending on the style of wedding you have, it''s no big deal to not have a train. Bright Spot''s idea about a cathedral length veil is a great solution if you still want a train.

Hmmm....does anyone else think there could be a huge market on ebay for selling those extra two white/ivory VW BM dresses??

I actually wound up going with Maggie Sottero''s Tayla (details here).

i also love the dress because it leaves a great big area for some perfect bridal necklace.

Yup, it''s all about the jewels!

LOL--at least you''d be more likely to wear the necklace again!

Congrats again on your engagement & welcome to BWW!

Selflove, I seriously considered buying the extra 2 VW BM dresses & selling them on eBay.

Coongrats again on your engagement! Great dress, lulu! Good luck with your plans!

I don''t think a train-less dress looks weird at all, especially if your ceremony isn''t very formal. My dream dream doesn''t have a train, but since I''m short and I''ll have to have it altered for length, I''ll be keeping the additional length it the back for a mini-train. A cathedral veil to dress it up is a wonderful idea, that''s definitely what I want to do!

Congrats on your engagement! So much to do now, isn''t there? I spend way too much of my time looking here at what other bride''s have planned when I should be planning my own wedding!
I don''t think it would be weird to not have a train. I think so many wedding dresses that people are chosing these days are fantastic in nontraditional ways.
I have to laugh as well about the necklace comment! I so want to purchase some bridal jewelry!!!!
Welcome to the BBWs!

lovelylulu-
That''s a beautiful dress! If having a train isn''t that important to you, I don''t think it matters. And, even if it is, I bet a good seamstress could add one for you!

I can''t wait til you get it and try it on!!

And welcome to the Brides side!

thanks for the welcome

and i''m going to need you guys. wedding planning seems daunting, but i hope it''ll be somewhat fun.

i was never one of those girls that has been planning my dream wedding since i was small, so i''m really going to start to make some decisions and get some ideas...

first, i think i need to figure out how many people --- then pick a location and venue...

oh boy. it has begun
face23.gif

OMG, it''s gorgeous! I love the flowy fabric! It''s definitely "bridal enough"! Not all wedding gowns have to be giant and poofy and lacey to be a wedding dress.

It''s beautiful!

I''m so sad. I just got a number of messages from Bluefly informing me "Sorry, your item was out of stock"

face23.gif
