My friend is married!!

Background story: I don’t have very many friends because I moved around a lot but FF has a ton of friends as he has lived in South Florida in the same neighborhood since he was 5. I try not to make friends with the girlfriends of his male friends (follow LOL) because they usually come and go. But one in particular I adored as she is awesome. She’s from NY like me

, very laid back, drama free, and an all around cool person.

She dated FF’s friend, “W”, for 1.5 years. She, “N”, really loved him. But the last two months of their relationship, W became very distant. At one point he told N that she needed to lose weight because he has an image with his friends and she’s damaging that image

. They eventually broke up and it turns out that he was acting that way because he wanted to get back together with his son’s mother, who is also his high school sweetheart (that’s a whole other drama). I remained friends with her because I enjoyed her company a lot.

This was all about 3 months ago in April. She was heartbroken, would call me crying, and couldn’t understand why he did that. Then, after about 2 weeks of not hearing from her I get a text message just now saying she’s married

!! Not engaged, not planning a wedding…MARRIED!! She got married to some guy she met at the gym. Apparently he was her trainer at the gym that she joined right after W told her that she needed to lose weight. She said that he had asked her out a bunch of times but that she finally accepted a date from him on her birthday…which was 3 weeks ago

There really is no point to this thread except that I can’t believe it!!!

Holy cow! That''s some pretty shocking news....

The first thing that I would wonder is if the friend telling me they got married had too much to drink and I would ask them if they were in the vicinity of Las Vegas or a drive-thru wedding chapel....

Nope...not pregnant, not drunk. The two of them went into court and got a marriage license and now they''re married!!

Her exact message to me was:

I''m married! I''m so happy with him, this man would give his life for me. I feel loved in a good way and I''m happy.

I need to get them a gift but I don''t know him so I have no idea what to get. Maybe something for the house??

Too bad because they so rarely work out. Well it''s a done deed, so all you can do is continue to be a good friend and be ready to pick her up when she falls. It''s possible she''ll beat the odds, let''s hope so.

Oh wow! I hope it works out for her, but I am sure the probability is rather low on that. I would have to agree that this guy is her rebound guy and it is just sad that she rushed into marriage so quickly, even if she is happy right now.
