My Jeff White 5.33 ct Mahenge Garnet

I had commissioned a reset for my OEC and needed a colored gemstone for my original ER setting by ERD.
This 5.33 ct Mahenge Garnet popped up on Jeff’s Gem Brief at the perfect time. Garnet is my birthstone and the size was a perfect replacement so here is the completed ring. It is quite moody as it shifts colors from a dark purple, deep burgundy and even a brownish in the sunlight. I love it!

Thank you @Starfacet, yes indeed it is a perfect fit. Normally colored gems are a bit deeper but this one was the perfect depth as well. My OEC is 10.3 so I can tell that the garnet looks a bit smaller but it's perfect!

You are right- meant to be! Gosh that setting is no slouch- it looks great on you. Such a sizeable garnet- that is awesome it was not too deep for the setting, either. It must sparkle like mad.

So, I am gathering that this setting held the OEC diamond you reset into the CVB halo-filigree 'queen' ring? That is fantastic. Well done to end up with two marvelous heirlooms!

Thank you @apacherose. Yes, this was my original ER setting that held my 4.13 ct OEC. It's amazing that it now holds a 5.33 ct colored gemstone! The setting was completely handmade by ERD, I'm still amazed at the superior quality. It's a very sentimental setting hence it had to hold a pretty special gem!
