So I apologise for those who have already seen these... but I finally got my package today with my new CVB handcarved emerald ring which I excitedly shared photos of in the Colored Stones forum a few weeks back as well as my Sophia and I really wanted to share with people who would understand!! Feel free to skip my raving on about Caysie and her team and move onto the photos
I did consider just adding these photos to the existing thread but that was mainly about the Isadora and not Sophia and I really wanted to show Sophia off a little more...
Let me say first of all that my photos cannot do justice to the work that Caysie's team has put into Isadora. The handcarving is RIDICULOUSLY delicate and detailed. And the setting actually GLITTERS- I think it's because of the contrast between the brushed finish of the uncarved bits of the ring and the super high polish of those areas which HAVE been carved. The variation in the metal itself catches light and actually sparkles.
When I first bought the emerald from Caysie, I had no idea what I wanted to do with it. She sent me a photo of a yellow gold handcarved setting she had been intending on setting it in. While lovely, it was a much heavier look (as my friend put it, it looked a bit like a 'mafia' ring lol). It took awhile to grow on me, and I told Caysie I wanted a 'lighter' look, to which she suggested some floral cutouts together with the engraving. The CADs which I'll include below were very plain, but I trust Caysie when it comes to understanding what I want... and I think she and her bench nailed it!! The emerald does have a small window but it does not appear to be very apparent when I wear it (did throw me off a bit when I first saw it).
I am struggling a little with the size of the ring as it is VERY substantial on my finger... but I'm sure that's something that I can get over, as a good pricescoper I can't even figure out which FINGER to wear the ring on right now. Is it weird that I can fit my rings onto 4 different fingers?
Sophia I bought during one of her LT sales so this has been a long time coming! I initially bought her on a whim to stack with my Alexandria band, thinking that it might be pretty (I already considered Alex my HG band). I was wrong. I LOVE the sophia!! She has a super low profile and is amazingly comfortable to wear- and the glitter of those teeny tiny little french cuts... omg. She is officially taking the place of Alexandria for awhile as my go to work wedding band.
I've included a 'family' photo of my little CVB treasures for good measure. There are more to come that are in the works (as there always seems to be when it comes to Caysie!!) but it will be awhile before THOSE projects are done... so here we go!!!
