My older sister and her FI adopted an 8mth old puppy who arrived today. She was keeping it a secret from my parents, but this evening sent a family-wide text message with a picture of the pup. Around this same time, BF and I were driving home from having dinner and I thought i''d call my mom and get her thoughts on my sister''s new addition:

Me: Did you get the text picutre?! What do you think?!

Mom: Did I get the text picture? The picture? Of what?! I KNEW IT! I KNEW IT!! WHEN YOU TOLD ME EARLIER TODAY THAT YOU TWO WERE GOING OUT THIS EVENING..."

Me: ::Sensing she''s on the wrong track:: "Isn''t she cute?!"

Mom: Isn''t who cute?

Me: The picture? Did you look at the text message?

Mom: It''s loading. Did FF just propose? Are you engaged?!

Me: No. The dog mom, the dog... Look at the picture...

Mom: ::looking at the text picture:: Who''s dog is this?

Me: Your other daughters.

Mom: Oh. ....Sorry about that- I just assumed. Hope I wasn''t on speaker phone.

That could have been an uncomfortable moment
