Just purchased my new 3.19 M AVC from GOG!! I'm sooooo excited!! This is a 5 yr anniversary present from hubby. Hopefully it will be here in the next 2-3 days. I can't wait to see it…Will post pictures the second it gets here! Here is the link to the diamond…hopefully it works.

Now to find a setting for this wonderful stone! I have been eyeing this Neil Lane setting…Has anyone here had a custom setting made by him?? What do you think of this one…

14-pink-engagement-rings-neil-lane_0.jpg

I was thinking maybe playing up the yellow in the stone like they did with this pink…what do you think??? I need opinions!!

Hubba hubba :naughty: That stone is the die for!!! And I love the setting! NL was/is far, far out of my setting budget but I think he has amazing stuff! Some people may say to play down the color as M is not that low on the white diamond color scale, but I say do what you want! When I've considered M and lower color stones, I've always leaned toward playing up the color rather than playing down and emphasizing contrast.

Congratulations! What a gorgeous stone!!!

That setting...something about it is not appealing to me...I think it has to do with the moons on the outside. I think I would like
it without the moons.

Congrats! What a beautiful stone.

I would personally choose a platinum design from Victor Canera. But choose whatever appeals to you :appl:

Yes that is something I also considered. I'm not completely set on this setting it just caught my eye as I was looking around online.

I don't know much about Victor Canera. Does he do nice work? I have always been a Tacori girl but I think it would be hard to find a setting of their's to fit this stone.

Let's wait for the Tacori fans to chime in? I think Tacori makes a setting to fit a center stone?

Victor is very popular here on PS. He is one of the top designers when it comes to pave settings. He makes his setting 100% handforged and has a great eye for detail. He is located in LA but he is used to working with long distance clients. I live in Europe and based on advice and recommendations here on PS I choose Victor to make a setting with french cut sides for me. I still love love love the setting he made for me: I enjoy every detail and cannot find any flaw. I have never heard any complaints about his work.

His website is: www.victorcanera.com
I will also try to find a thread with his work.

Found it! https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/post-your-victor-canera-beauties-here.175281/

Tacori hand makes their settings for your stone. GOG works with them, and I know Jon has raved about Tacori's customer service. They let you upgrade your setting through them, too, so if you ever want to change your setting, you get 75% of your purchase price back! That's really nice to have as an option.

If you have always liked Tacori, get Tacori.

As for the M color.. I wouldn't play it up or down. Ms aren't white white. They also aren't yellow. Enjoy it for the warm glow it is!

Oh yes, and congrats on 5 years! What a lovely hubby and a lovely gift! Can't wait to see your pictures!

I have lusted over this stone for months, it's one of a few favorites that I have saved. So I'm happy it went to a PS'er and now I can live vicariously through you. I can't wait to see the finished product.

Congratulations on your anniversary! :appl:

Congrats on your new lovely AVC! I've got a little something in the works also! :Up_to_something:

Just wanted to let you know that you will not be able to use Victor Canera if you are thinking about a setting for your AVC. You may want to discuss a setting w/ Steven Kirsch instead...

Ahh, indeed, I completely forgot! Victor will not work with AVC or AVR stones. I second working with Steven. He is one of the PS darlings too.

I had dreamed of that diamond, too!!! So happy for you! :appl: :appl: :appl:

I like the idea of an antique style setting and I will show you the settings that I have picked for an AVC. I would not use Neil Lane. There are better options. I also would not do Tacori because you pay sooo much for the name. But here are some choices of finely made pieces that are in line with your inspiration piece. I also agree with all platinum and enjoy the color contrast with the M in a halo!

Phillip Press makes some gorgeous settings. Here is a round with a pink halo (which costs a LOT extra), but you can get an idea that he can do the style you first posted. Look under engagement rings.

My other choices are from Singlestone, and they also custom made the setting for the stone. So ignore the center stone shapes because any of these could me made to fit your stone.

Why doesn't he work with AVC's? Is it because the stone wasn't purchased through him? Another one I kind of like is leon mege. Any thoughts on his work?

That's a beautiful AVC, YUM :lickout:

Leon Mege does not accept AVC's either, sorry to say!

Yes, there is a lot of competition for branded cushions these days! I believe another option would be Engagement Rings Direct--you should look into their work.

I wouldn't use LM even if he did accept AVC's because of major problems some people have had with him and with quality issues with some of his pieces.

Steven Kirsch is your best bet if you want a modern pave setting.

Leon will not take August Vintage Cushions, Victor sometimes will, you need to email him explain what you have purchased and ask if he would do it or not. Steven will take them.

Thanks for all the pointers everyone! I will for sure use Steven Kirsch for my temporary setting. I want to take my time and make sure I find my perfect "forever" setting. Plus I'm losing some weight and don't want to have to resize :wink2:

Hi Arkie--Victor has his policy regarding AVC's outlined in his FAQ's section:

SK would be my top choice as I had mentioned earlier, too! :)) He did a wonderful setting for Wintotty's AVC! I'm currently in talks with him regarding my current AVC project!

I have been drooling over that AVC for a while. So happy for you!!
Congrats on your 5th anniversary.
Can't wait to see what you do with it!!

I don't think I'd use SK for a temp setting! I'd get a nice white gold setting for well under $1000!
