Photos first cause that’s what we’re here for. These are Caysie’s pics cause I’m too tired and lazy to take my own. They wouldn’t be very good anyway.

I finally caved and got an ACA and asked Caysie to set it in a Jovyn because I’ve loved the setting for years! I requested it be made so that the head can be swapped out as I upgrade and she assured me it could be. It’s a 1.838 K, SI1 ACA. WF was amazing to work with, as always. I’ve been bothering them for a few years at this point probably so I’m so excited to have finally made the purchase. Michelle is so kind and patient. As someone who waffled on finally just buying a super ideal for years, I’m glad I did it. I can’t wait to upgrade way too many times and drive my husband crazy!

Now I need help with getting bands to stack. The Jovyn is so thin that my larger bands looked weird. Anyone have suggestions/ opinions on what mm bands would work? Usually I’d make my husband take me to a jewelry store but I’m trying to avoid being out as much as possible. I thought I had an idea of sizing/ what I wanted but then I remembered that I’m actually kind of awful at judging these things. Instead of wasting time/ money buying/ returning/ selling I figured I better just ask for help.

I know I want yellow diamonds and colorless diamonds. Maybe an aquamarine band if you all think that could hold up? And a step cut diamond band. I don’t need them all right now, of course.

Eye candy delicious!!!! <3 congratulations :)

So pretty! I do hope that you will post some hand shots eventually :) I am also following the thread bc I have recently also gotten a solitaire w a thinner band than I am used to so also am curious to see what others think :)

Wow that’s gorgeous! I absolutely love yellow gold. Especially with warmer colored stones (I have a J in rose gold). This is so classic. Congrats !

Gorgeous ring and stone!
Would love to see pictures with your bands to know a baseline of what you already know you don’t want, to give relavent suggestions…..

so instead, what’s the widths of your current bands?

What a beautiful ring! If the goal is to give the ring more presence, I wonder if some of airier stacks CvB has been doing might be fun to play with? Even something like this one done to accommodate your ring design and future upgrades :kiss2:. Or she shows a bunch of options in this post, some with rings like yours—and I can totally imagine the ones with colored stones would look amazing with the yummy yellow diamonds you mention.

That said, it looks like with the donut you can go anyway you like!! What fun!

@Mreader @Sprinkles&Stones Thank uou!

@Rfisher thank you! I didn’t take pics with the bands and then I sold them. I’m thinking probably 2mm would look good? Maybe slightly thinner? I feel like every time I try to stack it looks strange.

@ksluice thank you! i was thinking her Norah band would be a good option so I threw out feelers to see if anyone has one. I don’t like curved bands. I’m more so looking for variety, not so much presence.

Oh my gosh, I'm no help with bands but I love your new ring! I also just purchased a K ACA and was wondering what it would look like
in yellow prongs. How do you feel about the yellow prongs with the K stone?

Its such a pretty ring!

Edit...Question...is that 14k or 18k yellow gold?

Hand pics when you receive it...I'm assuming its still with Caysie?

Cvb’s Jane bow rings are 1.9 wide. They are a carefree wear as a stacking ring, IMO.
I’m not sure if her norah bands come that thin?

you ok with secondhand? What’s your ring size?
Plain and sleek like a channel set, wanting prongs,
Or looking for decorative elements?
Wanting to stick with YG or open to mixing metals?

Congratulations on your beautiful new ring @winnietucker, it's gorgeous! I think 2 mm bands that are fairly low in height would look good.

I did 14k YG to match the rest of my jewelry. I like the yellow prongs but I might go platinum next time. I didn’t do it this time cause it I already went like $3k over what my husband said I could spend… oops.

I’m def ok with preowned. I want prongs unless it’s a step cut, for some reason I prefer channel set with those. Leon Mege has a bead set band I’ve been eying out and I might want one in that style too. I’m a size 6.25 but I’m guessing I’ll need to go bigger to stack. Do you think half a size bigger is god enough? I want the bands to be simple.

Thank you! I’m glad to hear I was on the right track. I might just muster up some energy and go to a jewelry store to try on bands and confirm.

Gorgeous ring!! It looks a lot whiter than a K - for some reason the K's always look great (whiter than J for some reason)!

Beautiful! Congratulations. That is a awesome ring!

I didn't like curved bsnds either but now I prefer them. I find it keeps the engagement ring from spinning and also from it from rubbing because everything sits in its proper spot.

You can't go wrong with whatever you stack with it.

Beautiful! Congrats on your new ACA diamond and ring!

No help here, @winnietucker - but just had to drop by and say.....

STUNNING!!

:love::love::love::love::love::love::love::love::love::love::love::love::love::love:

Can I ask your finger size pls?

Your new setting is smooth as butter! I’m in love! My yg rings have always had yg prongs. I now have platinum prongs and I miss my yg. Gorgeous ring! I would put an eternity ring next to it.

No useful band advice, but just wanted to say congrats @winnietucker ! She looks so lovely-can't wait to see hand pics:kiss2:

@MRBXXXFVVS1 thank you!

@HS4S_2 what a beautiful stack you have! I was looking at a crossover ring at Costco when we went but it was rose gold. I suspect it’d be kind of similar to a curved band in that regard? I might ask to try it on next time we go.

@RunningwithScissors @Ally T @lulu thank you!

@mrs-b thank you! It’s a size 6.25. The bumps are irritating my finger so I might have them removed. Not sure how that’ll change the sizing…

@AprilBaby I had to go up north today because I needed to get it appraised for insurance and we happened to be in the same city as a Blue Nile store. We went so I could try on some bands and I think you’re right. That or a 7/8 eternity in case I need it to be resized? The 2.3mm band they had was nice. I reached out to IDJ.

What a beautiful ring! Are you glad you "finally caved", lol! The crown on that stone is amazing too! Congratulations.

Wowza!!! I love it!

Congrats on your beautiful new ring! I always found with band shopping that I had to try them on - what I had seen and liked I didn’t like on my hand at the end of the day. Should be a fun dilemma to have though!

Such a pretty ring. Moar pics when you get a chance. For stacking. for starters I recommend skinny rope bands because you can still use them when you get more stackers later but skinny rope bands give you an idea now of how much more bulk you want to add in small increments. Plus they can double as spacers when your stack grows.

Jovyn is one of the most elegant six prong solitaire~

The “After Glow” could be a good and more unusual match stacking with it. Let Caysie decide on the degree of curve of it to fit your ring, you may design what stones, may be yellow diamonds (to achieve a golden glow together with the yellow gold bands) or other coloured gems you want or even special cuts to make it uniquely yours….if you like curve band and you are allowed a to spend more:twisted2::twisted2:315B2707-F0BD-44CA-A7BB-0224428B00AF.jpeg

Thank you! I am! I’m excited for all the upgrade possibilities! If I had started with an ACA I might have something impressive by this point lol.

We ended up going to the Blue Nile store and I got to try on bands there. Luckily they were only a few minutes away from the place I took the ring to get appraised. I’m hoping to get a quote from IDJ though because I want the nicer melee.

I had seen one but it was the wrong size. I’ll def look into picking one up if I can find a good deal. I was thinking about getting a spacer.

She’s got some beautiful bands but I’m thinking I’ll probably use IDJ for the bands if I don’t go preowned. With that said, if anyone is selling their unused CVB bands in YG, hit me up! You know a girl likes options. ;))

out of absolute naked curiosity
and of course tell me to just shove on if you feel like it.

Is this due to sentimental reasons you’d want to keep the shank or as a cost savings method?
may I ask what percentage of ‘savings’ would it be to have it reworked with swapping the head out compared to a complexly new ring?

Cost savings. I’ve wanted the Jovyn for years and didn’t want to settle for a temp setting. I’m also not shelling out $1800 for a new Jovyn each time I upgrade. To me, the Jovyn is the perfect 6 prong solitaire. I’ll probably stick with this particular diamond for longer than I planned to when I first pulled the trigger on it due to some life stuff so it kinda works out. After that’s all settled I’m hoping to upgrade each year with my bonus.

Late to the party, but this makes a lot of sense. If you plan to keep the setting you can also curate a nice collection of bands to match it!

Congrats Winnie, this is absolutely gorgeous! Please update us when you pick out some bands :)
