my new Cocker Spaniel puppy- Pepper!

Hi everyone! I''ve been wanting to share for so long and now I finally have time!! I got a new puppy !

He''s the cutest thing ever, as all puppies are. He''s a Cocker Spaniel, black, and he''s just 11 weeks. It''s not an easy thing training a puppy, I''m learning that, but we''re making progress and it''s so much fun to see him actually learning! I''ve got a few pictures to share.

Oh and that you too, Julia, Rachie, Robbie, and Dani! I''m so tired, puppies dont'' let you sleep in. He''s got me waking up at 6am everyday. Well, I guess that''s what time I''m supposed to get up anyways, but if I didn''t have him I''d be sleeping in for maybe 30 mins

I''m just glad he sleeps through the night. He''s done that since we got him a crate. Those things are the best!

His name is Pepper. It was quite a feat picking a name for him. I had so many names that were possibilities. Propper, "respectable" names

, but since he belongs to both my BF and I (even though he lives with me) I let him pick the name. Pepper is my BF's first dog and he's so excited! It's really cute. And he's always wanted more of a "pet" name for his dog. So, Pepper it is!

sunkist, unless you want to breed him or show him, i don''t think there are any real ''benefits''...we never sent in portia''s registration papers. but it''s what...$35 or something? if i could dig them out i would just send them, i just never did. also if you sell him in the future then it could command more $$ if he is AKC registered.

He is absolutely adorable!!! And black to boot! They tend to have the sweetest personalities. Personally, I don''t think there is much in this world that is cuter than a cocker spaniel puppy (but I may be biased, having grown up with them).

He is a sweetie pie, but he''s growing into his puppy terrorhood! When I got him he was a very calm, sweet, and submissive dog. Now that he''s getting comfortable with us he''s testing the limits. And yes, Mara, I''m learning lots of patience. I totally feel like a mom! It''s so cute to listen to Cliff talk about him training us for parenthood.

Hey, Diamondlove! Actually houstraining has been pretty good. As soon as I got him we went on a long car trip from Oregon back home to So.CA. He did a great job of going where I told him to during that trip and it''s been fairly good since! Maybe he''ll have one accident a day, but he''s starting to have none! I''m thrilled with that. The problem is with biting and chewing on things. He''s starting to obey "no bite" more reliably now, but there are still those two times a day when he talks back to me and doesn''t want me to tell him not to bite or chew... I''m hoping this habit will be unlearned fast!

Today I''ve started giving him time-outs for when he talks back to me.
