Strangely enough, my favorite is that rosy quartz, and I can feel the silkiness!

I like the spessarite!

It has a gorgeous burnt orange look until the light hits it - then it lights up like a disco ball!

And I LOVE the stone in your av! Pad?

Yes, it''s a pad (and what brought me to this forum in the first place, lol). It''s a tiny guy at just 5mm, but I''m so in love with the color and sparkle! Yay for small gemmies!

Great photos and gems.

Oval amethyst 2.
I love the inclusions in this one. Sort of looks like creamer mixing with the purple stone.

Gotta love these pretty guys. Thanks for sharing.

. Love that spess.

The marcro lense is better than a loupe! I have this gemstone with a scratch .. and I can open see it in a photo .. can''t find it under a loupe.

I just wanted to come back and brag that I get to play with them in less than 48 hours!!!

ooh what a pretty colorful collection you have. Great pics!

Thanks ladies - these new pics are tiding me over until I can set them. I have the window with all my shots open and I just can''t stop looking!

Freke - SO stoked about tomorrow! I have a busy day because right after you and I meet, I am going to meet with a couple photographers because we are going back to the State Pen Sunday. Yayyyyy!

Macro shots are great MP!

At the risk of sounding like a party pooper, hopefully you didn''t pay much? I think a few of them are quite pretty. There are others that look like there have quite a bit of extinction. If it was an awesome price for some pet rocks, I think it''s a cool deal. If you might be able to buy a nicer quality stone that really speaks to you for the price, that might be an option too.

But I''m curious for both you and Freke...this sounds like a neat idea. Do you have to buy the entire parcel, or can you pick and choose and then send back for a refund on the rest?

I''m getting a ridiculously good price on these. I''m paying for each one that I want to keep - the ones I don''t want will go back - and they range from $20-$100. (The most expensive is the aqua.) I would probably never find stones this well cut or pretty in that range, or at least not that I have seen. The fact that most of them are pretty big carat-wise really appeals to me, too. I like big stones but they are usually too expensive for me.

That''s great you get to pick and choose. Then I agree, it sounds like a fun way to go!!

Hey TGal,
I bought the entire parcel for one set price. Barry picked out the stones, set the price, picked out more stones and then sent them off to me. I could have sent some back for a partial refund if I wanted to, but considering what I paid, I got an incredible deal for 38 smaller stones.

Isn''t macro mode fun!! Especially when you have a good camera (unlike me). Pretty pretties!! Enjoy!
