I’ve been reading about diamonds since I got engaged back in 2002 and I’ve been a member of Pricescope since 2008, but somehow I missed the emergence of square h&a cuts (it seems like there were a few brands for a while - Jubilee, Princess of Hearts, etc). I’ve always wanted a square diamond, and I started searching for h&a cushions last fall but didn’t really find anything that made my heart sing.
A couple months ago I saw a post here about square radiant h&a stones and fell in love. I searched out every thread and every example I could, but they’re more challenging to find now. I ended up ordering a .91 I SI1 from Good Old Gold which apparently is actually a branded Ideal Square diamond. Here is the AGS report:

And the loose stone:

I wanted to set it in rose gold, and in something to increase the finger coverage just a bit since the biggest downside to me of this cut is facing up on the small side for carat weight. I also wanted to try not to lose the shape of the stone since I love the squareness and the cut corners. I have a plan for a custom bezel, two-tone setting in the future, but I wanted to be able to wear it in the meantime! I sent it back to GOG and had it set in a Stuller setting 122237, ring size 8.5:

I am loving my new ring, and I feel like the diamond pops even more now that it’s set!
