Its hard to get a good picture of this fiery spinel, but its so fiery, these pictures have been taken outside on rainy day, and the color is still lovely and intense without the maximum sunlight there could be, to me at least :).

Userangl that's a gorgeous little spinel! Whar are your plans for it?

Hi. Thank you. I have my eye on an antique style cushion setting will small halo of diamonds from ebay, but unfortunately I have to wait till mid or end of this month before I can afford to buy it. Hopefully no one will before I do. If so though, It will be in a white gold cushion halo setting. I will post pictures of finished project, but it will probably be at least a month away.

That is a little piece of yummy fire -- can't wait to see it set. Hope you get the setting you want. Pretty pretty!

Really pretty, thanks for sharing. I think either setting option would be lovely.

How accurate would you say the vendor's picture was?

Can't wait to see this baby set! :wavey:

Hi. Id say that it was pretty close to the vendor picture. It just looks much better in person see the actual fire in the stone.

Lovely, that flash of red is so pure and strong.

Good to know.

Yea it suppose to be pinkish red which it looks like in my room lighting (that looks like the vender pick) but natural outside light, the pink pretty much goes and the redness takes over. When I take it outside the color just becomes brighter and more red, which makes me happy :). My pictures don't capture it as nicely as I would hope.

Very pretty. A nice feisty stone.

Beautiful! So bright and a gorgeous colour.

Looks pretty

I agree very pretty and I think white gold and diamonds will be perfect to show it off.

Lovely! An absolute little fireball if that's on an overcast and rainy day. Congratulations, it should be a stunner when set in the ring you describe :appl:

Thank you everyone. Im hoping to get some pictures of it in sunlight but it has been rainy the last couple of days, hopefully today will be better :)

Hi guys. I was able to get the setting sooner than I thought, though I need to wait till September to set it. Here it is, I wanted something to give it extra sparkle without taking focus off the spinel.

I LOVE this setting, in fact, I have it saved in my ebay faves and was waiting for the right CS to come along and buy one also. I love those little angel-like shields on each side and the filigree. It really is quite pretty! I cannot wait to see your finished piece! It will be beautiful.

JoCo,
I didn't realize that they made it themselves until I bought it and it is still listed, so they sell more than one, so my panic on getting it was for nothing lol.

Yep, they make their own pieces (or at least some of them). I spoke with Ilya about this one in particular, and contemplated having it recast for my wonky, old omc.

And if it's any consolation, several PSers paid a visit to DZ about a year or two ago and had lots of positive comments. If you do a google search for pricescope & diamondzone visit it will probably turn up. ;)

Keep us posted! I will be so excited to see actual pics of this setting.

Better picture with sunlight

Is that setting from MyDiamondZone? I visited them when I was in Chicago earlier this year and set a little baby Mahenge in this exact setting. Ilya was amazing. You will love this setting and it will look gorgeous with your spinel!

Here's mine:

Can I ask what is the size of your pink spinel in that setting? I have a 5.3mm radiant from peter torraca that I've been waiting for the right setting for and that looks amazing! What is the name of the vendor? Thanks so much!

Hi. yes it is from mydiamond zone, but it looks like you bought the bigger version of it as Ive seen two different sizes in the ebay store but i might be wrong. Thank you, I will be sending it in next weekend knowing it takes them two weeks before I get it back. I can't wait :)
