Slammie, it is interesting that you mentioned the prongs because the first thing I said to myself upon seeing the photos (after I regained consciousness, of course, because your diamonds are absolute knock-outs

) was that the prongs were so understated -- most of the 6-prong mountings I've seen have such "heavy" prongs that really seem to take over the stone which is partially why I've always been drawn to basket settings, but in your ring the prongs are not obtrusive at all.


And given that I do have a 3 ct. stone, yours DOES look like 3 cts!!! Had you told me otherwise I wouldn't have given it a thought!

The prongs are perfect--I agree with headlight. If I don't say so myself, that's just how my prongs look/are finished, and I am very pleased--they do not detract from the stone yet have some substance to them and balance.

That thing looks HUGE. God bless your 4.75 finger! It's a monster!

Thanks, I am very happy with the prongs..they are so small. I used to have the superbcert tiffany solitare and while I loved it very much the prongs stuck out too much for my taste.

ayla--that particular comment was actually directed to slammie. i pretty much want to move into her basement so that i can be close to her gorgeous diamond. but i appreciate the offer to move into yours--i wouldn't mind hangin' with your beautiful stone either. i'll have to split my time though; didiamond already said that i could come and stay at her house a few days a week.

Edited to add: but how hilarious would it be if i were roaming the boards arbitrarily asking people if i could move into their basements?? lol.

Kayla, I used the pentax optio S40..I'm really happy with the camera..my previous one was the minolta dimage and in macro setting, it tended to blur alot...I had to use a tripod to do macro. This one is really steady.

HL, the superbcert replica is superb...it looks just like the tiffany..I loved it...it's so heavy too..the prongs are abit more prominent though
