Since there has been some recent discussion regarding green stones, I thought I''d post my new ring......custom cut Congo tourmaline by Daniel Stair, and custom setting by Michael. The stone is a 3.7 carat, and I had around $1000 in the setting. The side trillion diamonds were from a previously "dismantled" ring. My birthday is in May, and emerald is my birthstone, but I don''t care for the cloudy look of emeralds, so I opted for the tourmaline. I am in love!

That is beautiful!

Can you tell me where you purchased your stone? I am looking for a 2 carat round stone. Any ideas on the cost? Thanks!

Fancy, it is from Daniel Stair:

A 2 carat colored stone has many many factors that go into the price. Could be anywhere from a few hundred dollars to many many thousands.

And Clementine, I love it! We need more pictures though please!!!

Thanks everyone! Yes, Daniel Stair custom cut it for me almost a year ago, and I hadn''t been able to come up with a setting I liked until recently. Micheal was also great to work with and was able to help me decide on the custom setting. I promise to do some hand shots this weekend!

I hope this helps everyone thinking about green stones..........the tourmaline sparkles like CRAZY and has beautiful green/blue green colors. PLUS it was affordable. If memory serves me, I think I paid around $3-350 for the stone, and about $750 for the custom setting. I can''t wait until my birthday so I can wear it!

Donna.

Oh Clementine, It''s BEAUTIFUL!! I really love the setting and it shows off the stone perfectly! A gorgeous green stone.
