I just created a couple of different prototypes for my invites. These would go inside a pocketfold (either chocolate or black depending on which deign I chooese to use).

What do you guys think?. I haven''t sent it to FI because I think I rather show him the entire prototype (inside pocketfold and all) so he can truly see what it would look like. I have realized most guys don''t have the imagination to picture things like we do! lol.

Anyway. Initially I wanted chocolate...but I am loving the black and my BMs will be wearing black!. I would like to see how the black and white one looked if the black was chocolate. Since I don''t know how to use Macromedia Free Hand, I sent the picture to a friend of mine to see if he can change the background..

I would also create similar Thank you Notes, favor tags, placecards, programs, etc...

What do you guys think?

I love them both...and had the same thought as you did with the chocolate option. I think either or is great. Both exude such elegance!! What are your wedding colors again? Forgive me...there are a few discussions...I get sidetracked...but promise to stay focused.

Ok...edit...I think I prefer the b & W. sorry.

DKS

funny side line...I was spell checking...and the word such I typed with a K instead of a h. I am laughing all alone. Had to share. Glad I caught it!!

I love the black and white especially with your spanish theme

I love them! IMO the black seems like it would really tie in with the rest of the wedding theme... It seems more "Spanish Elegance" to me. That said, I like the brown too. Great job!

Thanks DKS!

Ok, elegance is good...I think that''s what FI is going for!!!

I like the B&W too....I think it would be gorgeous if I could find a coffee bean dark brown and have the same efefct of the B&W.

Wedding colors...yeah...I never did get around to choosing any...lol. My BMs are wearing black because I wanted to give them flexibility, be elegant and get something they would wear again!.

My dress and the flower girls dresses are Ivory. My flowers are white callas and white roses...and ivory candles everywhere!. The tables will be all Ivory. I might add gold chargers or something.

So I don''t have "colors" per say...I like how the green looked with the black and with the brown though...

Thank you DKS!!! You had me laughing, as usual! lol

The b&w really pops! I like that version better.

I do love the black too. My mom is already not happy about my BMs wearing Black. His mom is also very conservative. If they get a black pocketfold would they die?...lol. I just think it looks so clean and elegant!.

That''s why I want to try with the coffee bean dark color...maybe it would give the same effect...

Thanks guys!!!

I like them both but I think I prefer the black and white. It reminds me of a gift bag somebody gave me this summer... came from Hallmark. The design isn''t an exact match but it''s very similar! Maybe this would be something to remember for attendant gifts! Hallmark bag

How pretty Sumbride!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for that link!

Is there anything you guys would change?. I''ve been playing around with it....Opinions and suggestions are very welcomed! :))

I am so happy you guys like the black too...hehe, I love it too just nto sure what the "others" would think!...and I already will have to embark on the fights about the wording of the invite (I don''t want any names, just ours)...so I should save my energy for that battle..hehe

M~

Wow. I love the black and white.

What program are you using to make these? Will you be printing them yourself?
Nice work :)

If your BM's are wearing black then i would go with the B&W. Also because they are so NICE LOOKING! That is a really cool invite.

One thing though, on your RSVP card is it suppose to say "The favor or a reply..." or it really suppose to be "of".

Oh and I TOTALLY agree about guys not being able to visualize like we do! FI can NEVER understand what I'm trying to explain to him. So I am also going to make our invitation samples in full before asking his opinion.

Oops...that was a mistake! Nice catch! thanks!!!

I am using powerpoint and downloaded the background from istockphoto (for a small fee). I''m not crazy about the fonts or the wording of anything yet....been playing around mostly with the design of it.

I love doing this stuff!. I am seriously considering taking some sort of design class...

Thank you guys :)))

I LOVE the black and white invitation!!!
30.gif
It''s actually exactly what I''ve been searching for, except I''m searching for a dark pink (instead of your very pretty sage-y green) accent.

Thanks!

April, the accent color is easy to change!

The little accent things are actually a font (vmdesigns) and the lines are just lines from Powerpoint

You should try it!. You can download the picture from istockphoto (I think it was you that gave me the tip to that website, right?)

I vote for the black version.

Unfortunately, I cannot take credit for the istock tip, Mandarine, but thanks a ton for the advice!

Oh, I thought it was you..

Anyway, one of you wodnerful ladies did!

If you go to istockphoto and search for victorian backgrounds it''s one of the first ones to show up. The download comes with 4 different color combinantions.

I am on a roll. Just created the Thank you Notes and placecards!. I''m so excited!

love love LOVE the black and white! Darnit, I wish I were as creative as some of you ladies!

Just agreeing with the peeps, the B&W does look very good, better than the brown. Especially for consistency and the time of year.

Another small point I''m sure you''ll catch - it looks like some of the text is brown in the black and white version - hopefully it will be all black?

Don''t let the moms worry you too much - black is fine for the bridesmaids! They should thank you too, for it dramatically increases the rewearability chances.

I love them both but I agree with everyone on the B&W. By the way, I just ordered my pocket folds in Coffee Bean from cardsandpockets.com and I love the rich chocolatey color they are! They are very rich looking (almost edible!). if you are thinking of going with the color I can definitely vouch for them!

LOL...that''s the same sample I have! that''s why I love brown!! because of that pocketfold!!! lol. I hope my friend can change the black to that tone of brown!

Ok..

I''ve been having a blast here!

More elements!!! I am convinced I want the B&W (or a dark brown if I can get that).

So ignore the colors...but look at the designs!

Thank you!!!!

It should be all black!. Just in the monogram I think I will add some brown to change it up. I haven''t decided yet though...but thatnks for the catch!!!!

Ignore the lines that showed on the B&W one...not sure why those lines show there...
