Hi Everyone,

Here''s the stone I ordered from AC Stones! I am pretty happy with it, and it has a lot less extinction than the previous one I ordered. It does look dark in the middle in this pic but that''s not what it looks like in person...so hard to get good pics...

Does anyone know where I can take this to get appraised in the DC or NoVA area?

Thanks!

I guess you picked this out over those that you had been considering at SimplySapphires. Do you like it? Is it better in person than ACS'' pictures? Do you mind sharing some stats on it (carat weight, size, treatment, origin, etc)?

I love the colour! What do you plan on doing with it? (Other than staring and salivating!)

It''s a very pretty stone! Oh you ladies have been getting a lot of good deals from acstones! i went to the website and found that I was a little late.. a lot of yummy stuff have been sold out!

Thanks guys! I am much happier with this stone, plus I saved nearly $500 on the sale which was nice. Here are the stats from Barbara:

1.80 ct. heated
5.7 x 8 mm --don''t know the depth but would guess at least 3 mm
Antique cushion cut
Better than eyeclean
Sri Lankan stone with medium dark slightly violetish blue color.

I think that some people might think it is somewhat purple, it is a very pretty blue color, a royal blue I would say. Very sparkle-y. Plus the longer facets in the middle seem to be cut so that they reflect a decent amount of light, and the middle is definitely not a different color than the ends. I am happy!

I will try and take some better pics of it. My plan is to set it into ring with diamonds, either a halo or something a la the Pokey special (split shank pave).

I''ll keep you posted!

I was wondering if it was one of the pricescope folks who snatched this one up. Congratulations, I think it looks like a gorgeous stone.

Oh Royal Blue with purple undertones. LOVE that color. What a great find you have.
