If you have been following my wedding dress thread:

https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/first-fitting-experience-and-pics.117682/

you will know that I had some major concerns about the halter neck on the dress. I had my first fitting two weeks ago and I loved the dress, but I wasn't happy with the halter neck being made from the tulle material of the original cap sleeves. I phoned the boutique to ask them to leave the straps alone until I had discussed further with the seamstress what I wanted to do with them. They booked me in for another fitting today so I could sort it all out well in advance.

WELL...I get there and after a long wait (and an unexpected run in with one of my best friends from work who was there for a bridesmaid dress fitting for her sister's wedding in two weeks) I go to get into my dress with the fitter and she tells me she has already taken in the bodice, made the bustle loops AND made a new halter neck strap for me out of a material that matches the main material of my dress that she had at home!!!!

It is PERFECT. It is about 1.5 inches thick and matches the material and colour of my dress exactly.

It makes all the difference and fits perfectly. She just needs to shorten the halterneck a little.

We'll decide about that at the next fitting though.

But yeah, I am SO, SO , SO much happier with my dress now and the halter neck looks amazing.

I go back for my final fitting on August 15th. The ONLY concern I now have with the dress is that even though the bodice has been adjusted and fits like a glove, the neckline still gapes slightly. I was wearing the bra I intend to wear on the day, so the seamstress suggested taking it off to see how it fits without it and it DOES fill the dress out a little better but I really don't want to have no bra on for the wedding. I feel a little exposed and unsupported, even though the dress holds me in fantastically.

I wish I had a photo from today's fitting but sadly we had to be quick as the boutique was busy and the seamstress was already running about 40 minutes behind schedule by the time our appointment started.

Isn''t it just?

I am just amazed that she instinctively knew what I would want done with the dress. It''s got to be the sign of an extremely taltented professional.
