I have bits and pieces of my story in various threads, but the short if it is that we ordered a tacori setting in october, it came in wrong twice already and we got a call last week saying the 3rd cast was going to be shipped out tomorrow, the 4th.

So I get back from lunch to a message from the jeweler saying my ring came in early and she thinks everything is right this time
26.gif
I am so nervous and excited, but I have to wait until my boyfriend gets home from work to go look at it.

ACK! This whole experience has been so stressful and heartbreaking and I''m really hoping that today will be the end of our 2 year journey to buy this ring.

Everyone send me your happiest "the ring will be perfect this time" vibes please, I need all the luck I can get at this point!

Oh my... good luck!! I hope everything turns out ok this time... *sends good vibes*

Oh my gosh, I'd die waiting that long on my ring. I just picked out today and I think I'll go clinically insane if I get it soon. I just know your ring will be worth the wait, though. Good luck, can't wait to see it!!

Anchor and XChick, thanks for joinging in on my ring countdown. If it''s not perfect this time I just don''t know what I''m gonna do. The moment of truth is approaching!

I finally drove my boyfriend so nuts IMing him every 10 minutes to ask him if he was leaving yet that he signed off
3.gif
I had spent all day trying to think of things to do to keep myself busy this weekend since I wasn''t expecting the ring to be in until monday, so I was unprepared for the call saying it was here already.

My boyfriend, bless his heart, is just as anxious as I am. He feels bad that we couldn''t afford to buy the ring 2 years ago when we first picked it out and had promised me I would have it by this past Christmas. I never thought about how upset he would be about the ring being made wrong and being late because it ruined his proposal plans
7.gif
I feel so bad for him. About a week ago we were laying in bed and he asks me how upset I would be if he waited until next Christmas since now he can''t think of as good of an idea as he had. He says for waiting 7 years I deserve an all out proposal but I feel badly about how much pressure he''s putting on himself. He took a second job to save the money to buy me this ring after a car wreck blew our ring savings and he''s already done so much, I hope he knows he doesn''t have to jump through hoops to make me happy.

EEP! He''s finally home. We''re going to check it out now. I''ll let you ladies know the outcome later tonight.

Wish me luck!

Good luck!!

Good luck! I can''t wait to hear about it!

FINALLY!! After 4 months and 3 recasts the ring is finally PERFECT! They set my stone while we waited and now I have the excruciating task of waiting for him to propose!
26.gif

And to torture me further my boyfriend has left the ring sitting in its box in plain sight, what an ass! I am going crazy trying not to go look at it. I haven''t seen it with my stone set, I wanted the first time I saw the finished product to be when he proposed but my resolve is wavering as I''ve been staring at the box for 4 days now ACK! I have to admit, I did close my eyes and feel to make sure the ring is IN the box and not that he was torturing me with an empty box, but it is indeed in there.

And for your enjoyment, my ring, sitting in its box daring me to go look.

You know if it ''accidentally'' fell on the floor a few times I''ll bet that sucker opens on its own

I can''t say I haven''t thought about it
11.gif
I mean, I picked out the stone AND the setting, it''s not like it''s really a surprise. But I can''t bring myself to do it. Yet. Its only been 4 days.

He''s had since OCTOBER (well really since 1999 lol) to think of a proposal plan, how could he still not know what he''s going to do! My boy is not a planner, but I had hoped he wouldn''t procrastinate this badly.

I am so glad that your Tacori is now perfect. What was wrong with it the other times? I had a **small** problem with mine as well so I know how disappointing that can be. I cannot wait for you to post pictures. Maybe he will propose v-day!?!

Yay! Glad your ring turned out perfect!!

Good luck waiting to look at it -- you have more will power than I would!!
21.gif

Ooo Rhapsody, I''ve been so busy this past week I haven''t kept up with your ring!! I''m so glad it turned out perfect...umm maybe you know the ring can fall off the shelf and um...accidentally open and you ''happen'' to snap some shots in the ring box for us PS hungry people.
9.gif

I guess this shows how cruel men can be!! Rhapsody, you are a strong-willed girl! I know if it were me, I''d be wearing it around the house! Good luck, and I hope the proposal comes soon!

Tacori , this was a bit more than a small problem. Tacori had changed the ring design sometime since Winter 2003 when I went to see it the first time. When we ordered the ring the sample they had was different, so I asked the jeweler to make sure and specify in the order I wanted the ring the way it was on the website and in the older catalogue picture, and pointed out exactly what was differnt between the two rings so they could put all the details on the order form. Well, either Jared decided it wasn''t necessary to do what I asked or tacori ignored it. So the first ring came in completely wrong. The second time the prongs were the wrong shape and the engraving was wrong. Both problems required recasting, and therefore weeks and weeks of more waiting.

Princess your ring turned out so amazing! I can imagine how you would let other peoples rings fall to the wayside when you had your own sparkler to worry about. The bezel turned out great. And I promise pictures as soon as I have that baby.

Amber don''t you love how our boys know exactly how to push our buttons? He does this with all of my presents. My Christmas present sat in its box on that shelf for a week or so too, so I have some practice at not peeking
3.gif

And I have good news! He told me today at lunch that he has.... a plan!! lol But he also said it would take 8 months to source parts, which I can only assume was a not-so-funny joke.

Anyone interested can help me pick a replacement stone for my old setting here,
https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/help-me-fill-an-empty-setting-with-some-colour.39942/

And I''m always more than willing to post pictures of my other rings if anyone needs a picture fix NOW! lol

Rhapsody, I hear ya, my boyfriend put my Valentine''s Day gift on a SUPER high shelf in our hallway closet, and being five feet zero, I can''t reach it! It''s been there for 3 WEEKS. He''s so mean. And I''d love to see some substitute pictures...
28.gif

Amber, I''m somewhat comforted to know my boyfriend isn''t the only one who enjoys torturing me by leaving gifts in sight

That''s quite a collection of rings you''ve got there! Thanks for sharing them

You do have an amazing amount of willpower. If it were me I''d wear the ring whenever the BF was not at home. I just couldn''t help it!
20.gif

I''m going to be in a similar situation soon. Just got the stone today and hopefully the BF will set it soon. Not sure how good he is at hiding things and we live together, so we''ll see...

Good luck waiting!

Wow what a rainbow effect
emrainbow.gif
! Where and how the heck did you purchase a ring while camping? The last time I went camping a bat divebombed me and got caught in my ponytail
32.gif
I want to go camping where YOU go
9.gif

That star sapphire is STUNNING. My mom never gives me her good stuff.
38.gif
Seriously, WHERE do you camp? That time I camped, I got stuck waist-deep in mud (I was scared out of my wits- not only can I not swim, I was wearing flip-flops!) while my ex-boyfriend (was still present boyfriend) was TAKING PICTURES of me!

ETA: If your mother has passed away, I don't mean to be so jokey.. I think it's a beautiful piece.
1.gif

GGLW, I saw the thread with your stunning emerald cut! I can't wait to see it set, do you have a setting picked out already? I wasn't too anxious until I knew the stone was set and the ring was ready to go, now I'm going crazy. I hope your boyfriend doesn't make you wait too long!

As to my camping ring lol At the base of the road that leads up to all my favourite camp sites is a tiny little town, literally one street with a few touristy shops. The 1st day of our camping trip (my boyfriends first ever) it was raining like crazy. It was too wet to start a fire or walk around, so we decided to drive down to the little town and have lunch and hope it cleared up a little. We were poking in the shops and there was this amazing goldsmith who had these really wonderful unique, flowing designs. I fell in love with that pink sapphire and my boyfriend told me that if I still wanted it when we left I could have it. Its still one of my favourite rings.

Amber, that sounds like something my boyfriend would do lol I fell waist deep into a snow pile near Pikes Peak wearing shorts once
14.gif
That was fun... And my mother is alive and well, we are fairly well estranged though so I find myself talking about her in the past tense. The only things I have from her are that ring and one from her mother, a silver ring with a tourquoise mosaic that makes up a dove. So 60s! I'm glad you like the ring

Heres a better picture of my camping ring so you can see the detail.

pinksapphirecampingring.jpg

I will go camping in a BLIZZARD if I gets me a ring like that! I love it. It''s so original and beautiful.. Good job, BF!

Amber, we don''t camp right
7.gif
!!

Moon River, that is so funny! When we used to go fishing/camping, I''d eat all the bait. We used to use velveeta and mini marshmallows. Everyone used ot get mad at me, but come on. What six year old would rather eat a fish she had to work for instead of cheese and marshmallows! Get real parents!

I''m so glad you added "We used to use velveeta and mini marshmellows" I was picturing you eating worms and fish guts

Rhapsody, thanks for your encouragement on the EC! I do have a setting picked out, so at least that part is taken care of, it''s just a matter of the BF getting things done and then deciding when to propose. I have a feeling it won''t be until at least May...which is tough because I feel like I''m going to want to wear the ring if I know it''s hiding somewhere in the house...

I pretty much spent two hours staring at the diamond last night in every possible lighting scenario in the house...it was so fun
36.gif
I tried to take pics of it and I am beginning to understand why everyone says it''s so hard to photograph a diamond. I tried macro mode and no luck. They all looked like cr*p!!!

Plus I can''t tell any of my girlfriends yet until I have the ring on my finger, so I can only tell all the LIWs on PS for now. At least that will keep me sane until the proposal finally happens!

As for all that camping stuff...I''m just not a big camper! The only camping I would do is in a cabin or an RV. I am a camping wimp...no bugs for me! I think I was traumatized by childhood camping experiences when I had to camp in a tent in a lightning storm...
23.gif

I''d be traumatized by that, too! And don''t worry, I have the freakin'' setting, and it''s begging me to wear it out! Unfortunately, the BF put it away so I can''t Hide-A-Wear it when he''s not home. And I can''t really tell people we''re engaged yet because there''s a ring, but no stone.
39.gif
I feel like a loser! At least I have the LIW''s and PS!
