WOW that is beautiful, I can''t wait to see how it ends up - definitly a unique colour in such a wonderful way :D.

I love it, how unique!!!!

O/T - How amazing is your diamond colour, it reminds me of a MAC eyeshadow that I just got called Pincurl. It is a diachrome shade, a very unusual silver that throws pink and sometimes mauve. Sometimes I think of this colour as being like a feather. You know the pigeons that have silver chests, but the colour is shot with irredescent pink.

Anyway, colour really has me intreaged lately.

Enjoy your ever changing rainbow beauty.

That. Is. So. COOL! I can not wait to see it set!

That is going to be such a stunning ring! The color of that stone is just amazing!

Cool stone!

Thank you everybody! It is a very unusual stone to say the least. And yeah, I have an eyeshadow the exact same colour too! LOL (it''s not MAC though).

The feather comment was interesting. Funny coincidence/fatey thing: we are getting married at the Flamingo in Las Vegas, and when we were down in Washington to look at the stone on Saturday, my boyfriend left the radio on while he went into the bank to take out the money for it. The annoucer was reading off famous birthdays in history and it turns out it was Bugsy Siegels birthday. Kinda weird (he built the Flamingo and named it after his girlfriend. Flamingo was his nickname for her because she had long legs and she was a showgirl. Part of the reason I really wanted to get married there was all the history and everything so I thought that was pretty cool) So..... this stone was FATE.

I think I might call her the Flaming-O (O colour - get it?)

i love the name you gave it, how the story goes... it all just fits nice and tidy, TOTALLY FATE! this is definately meant to be.

[one thing- i totally see the pink/peach in it, so how that wouldnt get mentioned in the appraisal at all, with the color, would be a concern for me too... i mean why cant it be silver&pink? either way, when it comes down to it, this is a one of a kind, absolutely gorgeous, special stone, and irreplaceable whether it said silver, pink etc on any appraisal ...
so most important, enjoy and love it everyday]

such a sweet find!!

Thank you so much - yes, the pink was noted in the appraisal - she noted the main colour was silver, then pink/peach. The stone does have strong blue fluorescence but I have not seen it yet and the appraiser did not test for it in her evaluation.

So it is at the jeweller and the inevitable has happened! At first we went back and forth over the prongs (why is NOTHING ever easy) but finally settled on something (a double gallery double prong basket). THEN he said "you know, it''s a bit crooked". Yes, it is. "And there''s that flat part on there and that chip" Yes, yes. "You know, it would be worth a LOT more money if you had it recut". I knew SOMEONE down the line would say that somewhere. LOL. My boyfriend nudged me in the ribs. I was like, NOT A CHANCE. Never in a million years would I EVER recut this stone. EVER. I think of that like refinishing an antique desk that has a hundred years worth of wear on it, the same sort of thing. Besides, I don''t care what it''s WORTH if I''m never selling it, right? I love it the way it is.

So.... it should be done in a week or two hopefully..... yay!!
