great planning on the FI''s part!!

CONGRATS!

What a pretty setting! Congratulations!

What a beautiful proposal story!! And your ring is stunning!!! Just an FYI - I am utterly jealous of you. My proposal "dream" is to get engaged in a hotel room, celebrate with champagne, then have the night to ourselves. Oh, and my dream ring is from James Allen.

Congrats, see you in BWW hopefully soon!

Congrats your ring is beautiful and what a sweet proposal story!!!!!

Congratulations, Lee! What a wonderful way to spend your Thanksgiving weekend! Very sweet proposal and gorgeous ring. Best wishes to both of you!

Hey there... Your ring is lovely!!! Question- Were you guys at the Ren-Cen? I just ask because that''s where we stayed for our wedding night... More pics please!!

Ringless: Thank you! I love it, too!

SailorSweet: Haha, I know, I wandered around checking it out, didn''t know I should be looking for a RING!

Addy: Oh, thank you, I
30.gif
this setting! I was looking for clean and simple, and this was it! I actually had no clue what it would look like in person, but it''s better than expected. Sits really low, too, love it!

BlackPolkaDot: Thanks, it is a fun story to tell!

Emilina and ckrickett: Thank you, it feels so great to get compliments on the ring!

Elledizzy: Oh, thank you so much my fellow Michiganian! I am anxiously awaiting yours so we can discuss SE Michigan venues and vendors!! Can''t wait!

Freke: I do love the story - the not noticing part is SO ME, which makes it SO US. Thanks! And congrats on listkeeper! Hope the magical powers work for you!

mimzy: Hey mimzy!! Thank you! We were at the Book, and it''s AMAZING! I already emailed Melissa, your photog, who is available on my date! I am super excited. I would love to get any thoughts on Detroit stuff....like a good DJ? or flowers? Bridal salons? Ahhh! Can''t wait to see pics of your big day, coming up SO SOON!

Princess: Hey thanks! The profile is very unique, I totally love it, too.

Gwendolyn: Thanks, sweetie! I always love reading your posts, feel like i know you.

news_girl: Thank you! I love JA, too, great settings and diamonds! The presentation box is fancy, too!

PrincessDijon, tabu, SparklyLibra, jcarlycrew, prettyinpink and radiantquest, and Alexis: Thanks! I love the story and the ring, too.

Amanda_Rx: Thank you! The setting is so "me."

laughwithme: LOL, you are too funny! Honestly, I didn''t have a dream proposal, but if I had, this would have been it. Like you said, we had the night to ourselves to drink champagne and be giddy, I have a lovely JA ring, and we were even able to spend the weekend after with family! Can''t wait to see you in BWW with your JA sparkler!

AprilD and CNYhopeful: Thanks so much, the holiday weekend really made it perfect!

Misskitty: haha, thanks! I got a bit carried away at breakfast. The light was streaming in so perfectly and there were so many "props" to play with! He stopped me short of putting it in my sunny-side up eggs. I thought it would have been cute, he thought I would get it dirty. hehe. I have lots more I will post when I get a minute.

ams0124: Thank you!!!!

Fieryred: Thanks, sweetie! I love it, too! Also, just wanted you to know I''ve been keeping tabs on your updates, and am so thrilled for you and FI on your little peanut! What a blessing, I love how you have taken it in stride - you will be a beautiful, amazing mother. My best wishes to you and your family!

Bia: Hehe, I know, amazing planning! He even packed a bag for me! Thanks for the compliments on the ring, I will definitely post some more!

KatyWI: Thanks, he is a sweetheart.

katamari: Nope, didn''t have to wait! Thanks for your compliments, I wasn''t sure about the E-W setting, I wanted it to be just a little different, and I LOVE how it turned out! It''s a 1.17 ratio, for those who were wondering.

LoveRoundBrilliants, Dreamgirl: Thanks, ladies! It was indeed romantic and creative.

Claritek: CONGRATS to you, sweetie!! I haven''t responded to your thread yet. And thank you!

sparkalicious, wishful, jewels305, ringless, and kittybean: Thanks so much! It was so private and perfect, and celebrating with family the next day was awesome!

Tuckins: Thank you! Nope, not the Ren Cen, the Book Cadillac. But we are considering the Ren Cen for our reception! Did you like it? And I will post more pics when I get a minute!

Thanks to you all, ladies! Pics forthcoming!!!

I love your story! Congratulations. Your fiance put a lot of thought into it--he''s a keeper!

How gorgeous! I love your ring and the East-West setting! Congratulations!

leeny- that''s awesome! let me know if you go with Melissa! I''m really excited to have her shoot our wedding. We don''t have a florist, and right now i''m not comfortable recommening our dj (has been a bit pushy so far) but i know that a LOT of people have been really happy with Mike Staff an his dj''s and i have to say that both (all two of!) the weddings i''ve been to of theirs were pretty e good. i DEFINITELY recommen i do too bridal salon in plymouth - the owner there is AWESOME, they have some great dresses and are really accomodating (they gave me $200 off my dress because they couldn''t sell me the sample when i asked. our baker is this little hungarian shop in allen park that is ridiculously cheap but isn''t super fancy (great tasting samples though!) called, ironically, the fancy pastry shop.

are you guys just considering venues downtown? which ones are in the running? we had looked into the masonic temple and the max fisher music center, but both were out of our price range

Thanks, Mimzy! It''s great to get resources from someone who''s been there. At this point, yes, we are just considering downtown, as we would love travel to be easy between church, reception and hotel (we are doing January). However, budget is quickly becoming an issue, as usual! So I''m stressing a bit, thinking we might consider doing our hometown, which will be MUCH cheaper, but not as exciting. We will see!

Gem Theater is the least expensive right now, haven''t heard from the new Fort Shelby or Atheneum in Greektown. My mom is going to make some calls for me this week (I am studying for finals!) so we will see.

If we end up not doing Detroit, I hope Melissa travels! (it''s 90 minutes from Ann Arbor).

yeah, budget was a huge issue for us too

. what's your hometown? we had to settle on a place in pontiac, but now i'm super happy with it (). the hall is an old masonic temple from the 1920's and ballroom is beautiful and the area is *slightly* urban (it's right downtown....but it's still pontiac).

i really hope you find someplace that you both like!the lafayette grande
