NCAA History has been made: The UConn men's and women's basketball teams have both won their respective 2004 NCAA division I basktebal championship titles!!! It's the first time in the history of the tournament that a single school has won both men's and women's title.

I'm the one bleeding. I wanted to see an all ACC final.

GA Tech played UConn's game. They should know better.

My color is the Wolfpack (NCState) red & white. Yes, I am sick as I have red and white jewelry. That is why my new ring will be diamonds & red. We are rabid fans. I taught my dog to say "Woolf" when I say "Pack".
Yep, we are sick pups.

I have to say that this was one of the most exciting NCAA tourneys in a long time. Someone did an excellent job w/ the match-ups.

Congrats to UConn.

i would think you would be more upset about phillip rivers getting the shaft from the heisman committee.

by the way, i still haven't forgiven you guys for beating houston in the '83 tournament.

I know. Hubby was especially pissed. We saw the winner play (Oklahoma?). He had it *much* easier. Much bigger defense & much quicker offense. Phillip was robbed. He's also said to be a real stand up guy.

Regarding 1983 & the Cardiac Pack, I remember that game (and tourney) like it was yesterday. We had become engaged the fall previous. We had met during the ACC tourney in 1982. Phi Slama Jama was over-rated.

And, without saying, Houston was out coached.

Valvano was an amazing game coach. Opie(Herb Sendek) is a good recruiter & overall good coach; but, he can't coach the "game".

Never Give Up! We are still waiting. Sadly, lately I feel like a Red Sox fan. Wait til Next Year. Go Wolfpack!

Edited to add: The bowl selection this past fall ended up benefiting you in the end.

Derek, I know that you lived in Connecticut but are you also a U.Conn grad? I can't remember where you did your undergrad work. (I am a lifelong Connecticut resident but never attended U.Conn except to take one German class. My brother, on the other hand, has undergrad and professional degrees from U.Conn.)
