Necklace with a halter style gown?

Hey ladies, Hoping you can help...
my brother is getting married in less than 2 weeks (yay!)
He asked me if he got a necklace for his girlfriend, would it go with her dress? I''ve only seen her dress once and I can''t remember anything specific except that its a halter. I''m finding mixed info about the subject, so just thought I would put it out here and see what you (very helpful) girls think.
Should I tell him to go with earrings instead?

Personally, I think necklaces with halters are just too much. How about a dainty bracelet or earrings?

I agree that a necklace with a halter tends to look a little funny. A bracelet or earrings would be a great compromise though. Maybe you could ask her if she plans to wear a necklace and if she is he can get her one. It''s kind of a personal preference really.

I agree...but would like to know the details of the necklace. Was it delicate and 16" or shorter?


Just ask to see her dress again...or details...or model name and look it up on the internet. If you were to see the dress again I am sure you would feel better about the advice. I think you might also ask her if she planned to wear any specific jewelry. You might get her to say..."Of course I won't weat a neckace because it is a halter...or I plan to wear my grandmothers tiny pearls...or I will only be wearing earrings...

I bet you are sneaky enough to milk that info from her. Sounds like your brother really wants to get her something special for the wedding. Help him by doing what we girls do best...ask! He can't because she would surely know he was fishing.

JCrow wore these incredible earrings on her day...planned to perfection...what if the last minute her hubby suprised her with a gift of earrings she would have HAD to wear what he gave her.

Thanks guys! I asked what she plans on wearing....grandmothers earrings and she is having a hard time deciding on a necklace beacuse of the halter. I don''t think I will get a chance to see the dress before the wedding so I will advise him he may be better off with a bracelet. Thanks again!
