Need design help with this Art Deco Inspired Setting

@meely what size stones are going into your eternity band? Thanks for data on single cuts-I hadn't heard that they face up whiter.

The round melee in my inspo ring is estimated to be 1.5 mm. My center stone is an M. It faces up whiter so I am hoping that I/J melee will work. Here's a pic next to my I color stud.

I don’t think I know enough to comment on whether that combo will work. I do wonder if your oec would show more color in less ideal lighting conditions in comparison to I/J melee?
With regard to the size of the melee in the eternity I am aiming for 1.8-2.2mm total band width so I would imagine a similar size to what you are planning. I didn’t mention doing it with OEC that’s what DK suggested to me because I explicitly said I did not want a big color contrast. He did say ‘if I can find them’ though! At the rate I’m going I won’t end up getting my ring for another 6 months!

Idk. My OEC always looks creamier than the icy white of my F ec. I just took this pic-late morning light. The other pic was a night time pic. I ‘think’ I color melee should be fine...we’ll see

If I can’t make the melee work locally then maybe I will just do a temp setting for now.

OEC melee sounds even more challenging than single cut melee

Tiny brilliant cuts will always face up whiter than larger stones, but single cuts have far fewer facets - so of all the types of round melee with faceted pavilions available single cuts have the best chance of showing their true body colour over various lighting conditions... They’ll def look less “bright white dot” than either full-cut melee or baby OECs of the same size. Baby rose cuts is another option for a totally different look!
