I am considering buying this loose diamond from James Allen. I have been doing a lot of research thanks to Pricescope but am still having a hard time trying to identify a good vs bad buy. Please see attached for GIA Certificate and TIA for any and all thoughts!

I wouldn't choose this one. It's a little deep and the face up pattern isn't super attractive to me.

that cert is 1.09 not 1.11ct

I draw the line at 62% depth...that just me.

Good catch @Garry H (Cut Nut). Wrong carat weight, wrong clarity & wrong dimensions.

Maybe @steaktacos1 accidentally posted the wrong report? If that is indeed the report JA forwarded you, then you need to point out the variances and request the correct one be sent.

Translucent arrows in the video has me thinking the pavilion is 41+ on the report. Agree with @lovedogs that the face up view isn't attractive to my eyes.

Reached out to JA on OP’s behalf out of curiosity, cert below. As @sledge mentioned, pavilion is indeed 41! Steep crown and steep pavilion situation?

Thanks @candyfloss.

The steep crown doesn’t pair well with the steep pavilion. Additionally weird things happen once the actual pavilion angles cross the 41.2 mark. The way that GIA rounds & averages, stones with a 41 pavilion becomes a concern because there is a decent probability you have some actuals that exceed that 41.2 crossing point.

While not identical, this article addresses a stone that has very similar proportions.
