Need setting ideas - 3ct oval amethyst.

I will post pics later. My MIL gave me a nice, gorgeous purple color amethyst. I was thinking solitaire. My budget is limited. Any suggestions or ideas? i''d love to see any and all, even if it''s out of my $ range, it''s fun if it''s droolworthy.

Treysar, sounds beautiful but solitaire pendant or ring? YG or WG? I like YG with amethysts. I think it sets off the color better. Can you give us a few more details on what you are thinking of?

Oops – duh, forgot the detail. I’m thinking a ring, because she also gave me a matching pendant – here’s a pic of the pendant. The stone for the ring matches this:

I LOVE THE VERA WANG!! I have tried that one on and I think the rope, thin setting is just great!
I know WHitehall''s was carrying something similar to that a few months ago, maybe they could just order you the setting.
