Need some opinions on princess cut

I would not buy a princess at Blue Nile because you have no information about cut quality (unless you can find an AGS0 princess at BN, but not all AGS0 stones are created equal). Could you keep the stone on hold at JA and look for a setting elsewhere? Maybe Whiteflash could make you a setting similar to the BN one (they made my custom setting) and set the JA stone in it.
 
Thanks for all your help... I bit the bullet and picked up a 1.24 Sig ideal from BN. Probably paid a nice premium for it but I got the setting I wanted. Most places were asking around 1200 for a similar or custom setting and I got it from BN for 800 so that offset some of the difference.
 
No problem! I have to say I find it a little perplexing that you did all this research on cut quality and then ended up buying a diamond with little to no info available regarding cut...but in the end, what matters is that you're happy with your purchase. Please post photos of the ring when you receive it! I'm really interested to see what it looks like and how the cut compares to AGS ideals.
 
haha well not exactly, the sig ideal that I bought had the GCAL light performance report uploaded to the site (I think all sig ideals do) and it was excellent, and certainly appears to match the brilliance in person. I'm not sure how reputable GCAL is, but I figure I can spare a few bucks if I need to return it. Here's a cell phone pic, I'm not near my camera.

It turned out great! I would be really interested to see what the ASET looks like compared to an AGS ideal princess. You don't happen to have an ASET scope, do you? :naughty:
