hello,

I have a lovely pair of diamond studs from ID jewelry, which have (had!) la pousettes. Unfortunately, I have somehow lost the backs. I DM'd ID jewelry on instagram to explain and inquire about buying a replacement set of backs, but they said they needed me to send photos of the backs, which of course I do not have. Has anyone run into this, and could perhaps help me figure out where I could buy replacements? I haven't been able to find a solution in my internet search. Unfortunately, we are locally in lockdown so jewelry stores are not open, or i could look into brick and mortar options.

@cloma thanks for this! I have needed new backs for a while

I also lost a few of those backs and a screw back so searched for something better and found this amazing option on Amazon. I checked my purchase history and bought them 3 years ago and wear them almost daily with my diamond studs and have never had an issue with them falling off or coming loose.

+1! I have these too, and they work amazing! They come with a detachable plastic disc for more surface area if you want more support, or you can wear them without the plastic disc for a more discreet look. They’re inexpensive, so perhaps they could serve until you’re able to find a jeweller who can replace your La Pousettes?

You can buy them on Amazon or Etsy.

THANK YOU to @lavalle218 and everyone else who mentioned Chrysmela backs -- we have a ferry ride which requires a quick on/off with a mask and twice I've popped my earring right out onto the floor (thank you, extra-deep-with-a-lip floor mats for keeping it contained until I could get home and take everything apart to find it!) I'd basically resigned myself to wearing only huggies and husband suggested a reset with locking backs but I had reset from screws to jumbo pressure backs just a few years ago because i don't like sleeping in them and screws take so long. I found this thread, figured what could it hurt to try them, and they're seriously the best. LOVE the clear disk to support bigger earrings, they are so easy to get on and off. Already gifted them to daughter. They're just really a nice safety feature with elastic ear loops!
