I want to get my hubby an inexpensive watch. He''s really captivated by solar power and alternative energy sources, so I think he''ll love the idea of the Citizen Eco-Drive watches. He would not appreciate or want a pricey watch. He''s pretty simple, not flashy, and doesn''t like bulky watches. He''s been wearing cheap $25 electronic type watches. He likes to set the alarm on his watch, etc, and is kinda geeky in that he is an IT guy. He works at a federal prison and occasionally has to respond to emergencies and such. His watch gets pretty banged up, carrying computers, etc. He likes leather bands.

Some of the eco-drives have alarm features, but at least one reviewer indicated they were difficult to set, so I didn''t really focus in on that feature too much.

Also, he uses reading glasses for anything he has to hold and read. I want to take that into consideration as well. The face must be fairly easy to read so he won''t have to hold his arm out just to see the time.

I found a few I''m interested in and would like some feedback or other suggestions of watches in the eco-drive line. He''s out of town this week, and I''d love to make a decision and order one so hopefully I can get it in before he returns Friday night.

First one - plain and simple $90. I don''t really like the cheap band with it, but the face is nice.

I like the style of the first or second one best. I would also recommend some more research on the eco-drive. I had one (I won as a gift) and had to have it repaired more than once and now it does not work at all. I only had it a few years and no matter how much light there was int eh room, it would not charge. I lived int eh UK part of th time and it was dark by $OM and I had to wear lots of long sleeves. They said that could ahve been part of the problem. Butm, then I lived in Vegas and wore short sleeves all the time and it still would not charge propery. When I took it to the jewler to have it repaired, they told me the eco-drives broke frequently and they do not recommend them. This was a few years ago, so the technology may be improved now.

Good Luck!

Oh, that does not sound good!

I chose the first one. All three of my daughters checked out the choices before they went to school and liked it the best. AND, they all chose separately! Me, I liked 3 and 6 the best.

I'll let everyone know how it works out and if he likes it after he wears it for awhile.

I like the 4th one. I have a Citizen although it looks nothing like any of your choices. I'll try to post a picture later. I seem to always have bad luck posting pics.

I''d love to see a photo or two of your Citizen.

So, I need a photography refresher, but here's the best shot out of about 21. I seriously had a hard time. I've been debating on whether or not to show it to you.

I''m sorry about the finger prints, lol. It''s not like a flashy super expensive watch. I just liked it and it was only like $160. I got it the last time I was home. I''ve never looked at Citizen Watches here in Philly.

That is a very nice watch! Thanks for sharing the photos, pennquaker09!
