Nervous about first time purchase, how did I do?

It's 2:00am in the morning, I should probably be sleeping but I can't stop thinking about this.

I purchased an engagement ring with a round diamond 2.35ct / H / SI1 / XXX / 1.9 on the HCA tool for about $28k. Price is inclusive of setting which is a platinum halo band with some pave set diamonds. Wondering if I got a good deal or not. Looked it up on PS and seems like it's within range of a reasonable price, but would love to get someone's opinion on whether the price sounds reasonable or not. Thanks!

P.S. I learned so much about diamonds from both the PS forums and articles, I think I'm rather happy that I'm this nervous than being blissfully unaware...

Stone for 25,000 and setting for 3000 seems right in range of the prices I'm seeing. Especially if that price includes the tax (you didn't say).

Price is inclusive of tax. So sounds like I escaped with minor scratches in a sense.

Thanks! This makes me feel pretty good about the value, maybe I can go to sleep now.

Part of me is still debating whether I should have gotten a smaller VS stone, jeweler had a similar quality 2.15ct VS1 stone for $2k less. But that seems more like a philosophical questions rather than a value questions.

This one was eye clean and the flaws were not that visible even with a loupe when looking down on the stone (although glaringly visible from the side under loupe).

Finally got the ring back! Thanks for everyone's encouragements. The ring turned out beautiful, hope the pictures work in the attachment. I was originally planning on asking next week, but I just can't wait, going to do it this weekend, wish me luck!
