Howdy folks,

This glowing beauty arrived yesterday from Gemhunters who had good service & communication so happy with my first purchase from them. It's a 10mm apatite trillion - sure it has plenty of minor inclusions but oh my gosh the colour is spectacular! It's the perfect Paraiba blue/green that I've always wanted and it was a total steal to top it off... :naughty:

Plans are to set in in a dangly 18ct yellow gold pendant, maybe with some contrasting coloured gems?

Photos are as usual, dodgey iphone shots in indirect light. I'll try to better ones in full sun tomorrow, bit overcast here today.

I also purchased a smaller oval yellow Chrysoberyl but it wasn't quite what I wanted so will be returning that one.

Very nice - really paraibish!!! And a nice size!!!

And in a pendent you will have a lot of joy with this apatite!! :appl:

Yellow gold!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wohoo!!! Amazing color and size. It will be stunning in a pendant. Great find.

Beautiful. It's good to see some trillion love here once a while.

HotPozzum, that's gorgeous! I love apatite too. What color and size! :D Stunning. Can't wait to see the finished piece...and more pictures. :naughty:

Hi,

I love that color and I also do like the shape. A gold setting will be perfect. I don't think I would like any other colors, except diamonds, to be set alongside, Enjoy it!

Lovely! I'd love to see it some quirky pendant setting with other stones.

Very nice stone, thanks for sharing!

DK

Please please please don't use those gem holders, especially on an apatite (too soft). They damage gems.

Very nice stone, and I would hate to see it chipped.

Crumbs! I will have to be much more gentle then. :errrr: I did notice a few small chips on the girdle but did not know if they were already there or not...

HP: that is an awesome stone! Apatite can have such an amazing color, like yours. Love it!

I just bought an Apatite and saw this thread of yours from long ago! Could you share what you ended up doing with the apatite? Did you ever set it?

I'm sorry I ended up trading it, along with a few other stones with my local jeweller for some setting work. I regret it now! :cry2:

Oh no! I totally get it though. Settings are so expensive. I’ve considered doing the same with mine but I just don’t have the nerve the pull the trigger!!

I love your stone! Wonderful selection.
The colors of the "paraiba" apatite, are amazing!
I have had some pieces that I got, just so I could feel what it was like to have color like that! Good stuff! Thanks for posting!
Here is some rough I had a while back. Brazilian heated apatite.
* My hands are dirty from handling Manganese covered quartz crystals...fyi! ;)
