New BIW! My first post!

Hello everyone! I just wanted to introduce myself and finallllly come out of lurkdom! After initially perusing the SMTR folder for engagement ring ideas, and then graduating to the LIW board, I am finally ready to join PS. I have been lurking in BWW for a while now, but figured it was time to join once and for all.

Short background... we got engaged May 22nd and then moved to a new city June 1st. Had to take new state''s bar exam (after taking home state''s bar 3 years ago), so June/July were pretty busy with that and we weren''t able to get back to the home area to pick a wedding venue and date right away. We ''think'' (fingers crossed!) that we have chosen a venue and are in the process of reviewing the contract, not to mention the budget.

Once we have it confirmed, would love to share and start getting some more great ideas from you ladies, especially on how to save some $$$ on things like invites, centerpieces, accessories, and the like. If we end up with the venue, it will be a bit of a splurge, but we are willing to do so to get married at the venue we love and will be looking for ways to cut costs elsewhere!

Anyways, that''s a bit about my situation! Looking forward to getting to "know" more of you better (although having lurked for a while now, I oddly feel like I already do!). Thanks for listening and for all the wonderful ideas, stories, and photos you''ve already posted that have helped us get to this point!

Congrats on your engagement and welcome to BWW. Isn''t it great to feel like you can "think" about your wedding out in the open now? It sounds like you are off to a good start having already found a venue.

Hopefully we will be getting to some of the "fun" parts of wedding planning soon! We saw about 12 venues in person, not to mention researching a ton more. I''ll be relieved once we have the contract signed!
