New Here. Question about ring on Portero I might bid on

Hi, everyone. I have been lurking for months on this site and would like any input on this ring which is for auction ending tomorrow on Portero. I have been looking for a RHR for a few months. I was about to see about having a custom one made but I really do like this one. What do you think? Is the price right?

The only thing that bugs me is I wish the setting was platinum. Do you think it would be feasible to have one made in platinum similar to this ring at this price? Something tells me it would not.

No, platinum settings will often cost 50-100% more than a white gold one. I am not sure I''d invest in platinum for a colored gemstone unless it was an expensive stone such as ruby or sapphire or other rare stone. That ring looks nice, but I have seen green tourmalines that I thought were a much prettier color than this one. But if you like that color, it could be a nice ring.

I''m afraid I really don''t like the colour of that stone in the photo.

I would want to see it IRL before considering buying it.

For the current price you could get a much nicer green stone than that.

Thanks for the responses. I passed on it. Instead I bought a really nice 6 carat Morganite and am going to have a ring made.
