It looks absolutely wonderful, Michelle! I am a land person far, far more than a house person and I think you have some spectacular land there! The house is icing on the cake. The land will always be there. I have a Scarlett O'Hara-ish view of land. That's one reason why I, whose politics are left of most liberals, was appalled at the Supreme Court ruling on confiscation of property that some have associated with "liberal" thinking.

Enjoy your new house (and land) with your family! And tell me more about the orchard! Got any fruit trees?

Hugs,
Deb

what a great place to raise kids! lots of room to run and hide!

Congragulations! Awesome landscape -- very serene and comforting. Any pics of the house?
lol - we don''t have our own photos, just ones from the listing. Here''s the solarium. The photo from the mls site is really small.

I''ll post more later when I have time.

Okay, my last one for now. My husband is making fun of me for posting these.

This is one of the two bay windows. Huge - perfect for plants. All the windows are framed in wood!

That solarium is awesome! You can grow fruit trees and herbs in there if you want! (Or more Japanese maples, I suppose!)

OMG It''s beautiful! Congratulations!

My parents have a huge Japanese Maple tree next to their deck. I''ve always loved that tree. You''re so fortunate!

Isn't it cool! My hands will be full w/the yard, but I'm a huge fan of tropical plants - crotons especially so I'm going to stick a humidifier in there and fill it up with easy to maintain plants.

Regarding the orchard. I have no idea what's in there. There's just a few trees - between four and six and I think they need some therapy, but there are lots of blueberry and current shrubs that seem to be doing well, so the boys will have plenty to eat while playing outside.

The house itself is small but perfect for us. . .2400 sq ft and 3 bd, 2.5 bath.

Thank you. My husband and I have had to make many sacrifices along the way and will be making A LOT more in the future. Keep in mind, we do not have furniture (one of our sacrifices). . .I''m not joking here. We have a couch, 2 computer desks, the beds, one dresser, and a kitchen table. lol

We''ll take care of the house interior in bits and pieces.

MC,
That house is awesome. I love it, good for you!!!!!!

It''s lovely, Michelle. Love the floor-to-ceiling bay window, and the master bath looks great! Since this is the house you will be raising your family in, you have plenty of time to fill it up with furniture. You are fortunate to have the beautiful piece of land. Our last house was nice but on a crappy lot, and I vowed NEVER to do that again. This time we found our land first and build the house to suit it. How nice to have a landscape that is already established.

Never too many pictures -- you know how we are here at PS.

2,400 is not small by my standards.

Mine is 2,500 (total living space) and is waaay bigger than I''d be used to (just shy of 1000 sf). I''m still learning how to live here and even worse, how to clean it.

Hey MC
35.gif
congratulations on your new home!! All the rooms seems so spacious! and I absolutely looooooove your land, just seems so quiet and set apart from the world...I think my favorite room is the solarium! YUM! By the way when are you closing? Hubby and I are closing on our new house in exactly 13 days, we are excited because our house hunt lasted 6 months and then we had to wait another 6 months for the house to be built uuuugghhhhhh. We do not have NEARLY as much land as you do (only 1/2 acre) but it is our little piece of relaxation away from the hustle and bustle of the world around us. Keep in touch, we can share decorating ideas!!!

Here is a picture of our half finished home, it does not have the shutters (midnight blue) and it is before the doors were painted (midnight blue as well). Hopefully when we go to check it out this weekend they will have put that up

Congratulations! Your house so far looks beautiful!

I''m not even sure which day is closing. I believe it''s the end of July. (When we put our offer in our agent told us that there already were two other offers, so we wanted to make ours as inviting as possible so we included a quick closing.)

Where is your house located? We were planning to move WAY out into nowhere, but luckily came upon this place because my husband and I were second guessing our decision to live in the country. We''re just city people at heart . . .our house is 5 minutes outside of one of the bigger suburbs here and 20 minutes to Seattle. Not too bad
36.gif

We currently live in Virginia Beach but we are moving to Chesapeake, VA. This whole area is weird because there are seven cities which are all within 15-20 minutes of each other and is refered to as ''Hampton Roads'', I think I was the only one who did not know that before I moved here though! lol Anyway, we will still be 15 minutes from the actual beach and only 10 minutes away from Virginia Beach...the few times we timed it we were 20 minutes away from our jobs. Not too shabby eh...We were lucky enough to buy in the first phase because now the price of our home has gone up $60K since we put a contract on it
6.gif
And the builder still has no lots! Oh well...heheheh Isn''t it great to have the peace of the country with the amenities of the city??? Having patience truly paid off for us, I''m sure you and your hubby know that too!

Virginia beach is gorgeous! We visited there about 10 years ago and loved it. Hope you enjoy Chesapeake. Please post photos when your house is done, both inside and outside ones.

Here around Seattle we also have a bunch of cities all crammed in against each other. With the pacific ocean on one side and the mountains on the other, there''s not much room for expansion. It''s kind of crazy. Too much traffic
