Stats:

"Aquamarine. 2.63ct, 8.49x8.47x6.44mm. Asscher. The rough for this stone was very hard to aquire -- all the aqua rough I could find was either suited for a square cut, or deep enough for an asscher, but not both. This is a choice medium aqua and should look fantastic as a ring or pendant"

Thank you TL! Yes, Peter listed the rough along with the finished piece. Here are more of his comments about this stone:

"The rough for this stone was particularly hard to find. Although I seemed to have access to plenty of aqua rough, finding one that would cut an Asscher of this size proved a challenge. Asscher are deep stones by definition -- aqua rough doesn''t seem to want to allow both square and deep. The rough here is a great example -- it was deep enough for another stone of the same size, but didn''t have the width. I pictured it here with the finished stone, because it is a color match.
Notice how the rough seems to be better saturated than the finished gem. Aquas seem to be the one stone that lighten rather than darken on cutting!"

Gotcha FF! I sold off a bunch of my jewelry recently and have decided to focus on gemstones instead. This way I can create my own special pieces or add to the collection. This is one of the more expensive stones and I''ll be laying low soon.

THANK YOU SO MUCH EVERYONE!!! I was SO taken with this stone....Peter has an asscher Danburite listed, too, and I was going for that one first. This one kept calling me and I went for it.

I have no plans for it yet....
