Cross one off the bucket list.
I lost my wedding set last year - and ended up putting the funds into an upgraded 2.1 carat J SI2 AVR from GOG. But I had no money for a wedding band at the time.
This year, we got a nice tax return - and I decided to splurge and pick up a band with french cut diamonds. I could have use it on more practical things, but it's been a rough 2015/2016. Four surgery in six months, and I'll have to do surgery next year, as we have decided I need the time to allow my body to heal. It's been quite an emotional roller coaster.
I originally contacted Grace about modifying the Viola band with French cuts - but it could not be accommodated. Instead, we made the Liv band a half eternity to stay within my budget.
Although the lead time was seven weeks, work has been so overwhelming that frankly, I didn't notice the wait. Of course, now that I have the ring, I am absolutely paranoid that my temporary white gold e-ring setting will rub against the Liv. The temporary setting has my diamond set way higher than I would have usually wanted it, but frankly, I am so exhausted from work and my personal life that I can't be bothered to deal with it at the moment. I know, BAD PSer. But, now that I have the band in hand, I can decide what works and doesn't work with the Liv.
The band is low profile, super comfortable, with a tapered knife-edge half shank. The milgrain work on the band is unbelievably delicate. I love the French cuts and the brushed finish.
Although I got the band on Thursday, I didn't have a chance until the weekend to take pictures in good daylight. Wore it out shopping on Saturday - I kept looking in mirrors to see the bling!
All in all, it was great working with Grace. Now I have to just save up for my next project!!!!
